Do you have a crawlspace or a basement? Is there a hole in your foundation? Your cat really can't get sick without having physical contact with the other cat. The best thing to do would be to find out how the other cat got under your house then find a way to get it out (humanely). You can call an animal rescue agency and they will be more than willing to help you out, free of charge.

By "under the floorboards", do you mean under the floor of your house? Under the first floor, maybe?
Do you have a basement? If not, is the house built on a crawl space? This is a low space maybe 1-4 feet or so between the floor joists and the ground. If you think you have this, go around the house and look for any way that a cat could have got in there. Look behind bushes, etc, all around the outside, and inside the garage, if you have one. Look carefully - listen, too. You'll have to figure out how to get it out after you find how it got in. Maybe lure it with some food and water?

Hello, If there a cat/ kitten, it would be pretty easy to lure with a few days of patience and can cat food or can tuna- it would probably dare the being scarred for a full tummy. Do you have an ASPCA? Just call them and they are better equipped especially if it hasn't had any shots including rabies. I would suggest you get the older kitty his 7 way and rabies and the younger can get some. I am in Texas. It cost at the animal shelter $18.00 for 7 way and $10.00 for rabies. The vet will be more expensive. Well worth not taking a chance as alot of diseases are not curable. parvo, distemper, leukemia, rabies, etc. And others included in the 7way that I can not think of right now. GOD BLESS YOU! sus04mc@yahoo.com

OK That is not a stupid question at all in fact if where you live it is immediate that you should call animal control. it is best to keep your cats away from the hole to prevent sickness. if there is a cat tell you parents and figure out some way to get food and water. I am only 13 and i experience the same thing. good luck! :-)

Are you for real??? That is the cruelest thing ive ever heard! Rip up your floorboards at once and get that poor animal out of there!Call the fire department. But for goodness sake do something!
Or are you Cruella De Ville???????????????????????????
How the heck do you know whether it has had its shots? Even if it hasnt, is that any reason to let it die a cruel death? The chance of your kitten getting is sick is completely secondary to rescuing this poor creature!
It sounds like this has been going on for a while. You should definitely have done something about this by now!
If you are so determined not to do something, alert your neighbour to your suspicions and let them do something. You may not want to tell them that you have delayed doing something though as they may report you to the RSPCA. I would!

You can use the pellets if you put them in a box with holes too small for the cats to get into and put them down at night when the kids are in bed. Look for places where the skirting is pulled a bit away from the wall (it doesn't have to be big - slugs can squeeze through), and look in the cabinets for openings around pipes and loose cabinet doors with gaps. They have to be coming from under the house or outside, and have to have a conduit into the house. Don't forget any heat or air conditioning registers.

First crawl under your house with a flash light and try to find an opening. Then call animal control. You may need to pull up a floor board or two. But if this turns out to be something other than a cat (raccoon, squirrel, opossum) you don't want to be the one reaching your hand in and pulling it out. Plus, they have catch poles, and sometimes cameras to help catch animals. Leave it to the pros, but do it sooner rather than later. Good luck!

I would call an animal control officer and QUICK! If there is an animal under there and it dies it's not going to smell good!
I wouldn't do it yourself because it might not be a cute kitten, but a raccoon or a skunk. Also, check with yopur neighbors and see if they ever found their cat.

There is a cat living under my house. Been there about 3 years. A friend of mine wanted to fix it where it can't get under there, but what if he locks it in? I just said leave it alone. It chases off skunks and what ever. I live in the South and there are squirrels and things to eat, it looks healthy. He wants nothing to do with a human.

may have been living on mice or other small rodents.......the least likely spots are exactly where kittens/cats can get in especially small ones.....
leave some food out on the outside of course but close to where you can watch to see if any of it dissappears within a several hour span........
cats can pass disease such as feline leukemia.....best to be concerned.....
contact your local pet officer to see if can set some traps for you too.....
best the creature is captured and checked for needed care.
thanks for caring!
