I walk him at least twice a day 1.5 miles in the morning and 1.5 miles in the evening. But during the day I would like to put him on his 50 foot chain for around 15 minutes so that he will do his "during the day" thing. How can I get him to go outside without me standing right there next to him?

All things need water to live, do fish get it by drinking or when they obtain the oxygen in the water? (I think fish obtain oxygen from the water through the gills)

I have a yellow lab ( I think ) and a few convict cichlids. I'm pretty sure all my convicts are females...but I'm unsure about the sex of the yellow fish.

I am having a small panic attack....

I was hanging out with Scout (shepherd mix, 5 months old) and she suddenly hunched over like she was about to poop, but then her rear end and back legs started shaking like crazy - she moved around like this for about 10 seconds and then suddenly stopped. She sat down, perfectly normal. We then played fetch, she ate lunch, and she seems fine. What was that?

I know this is a very broad question.
But does anyone know the average cost of a dog day care?
And also, what do they do with the doggies? Do they just stick them in kennels most of the day and only take them out every now and then to use the bathroom, or do they actually have activities for them or train them or anything?
Thanks!

My wife and I are thinking about adopting a dog, but I am not sure how the process works. We are kind of iffy about whether our apartment complex allows pets. There are people that have them and there is a part in our lease that says that we can't have pets, but there is also a pet addendum that says that we can. How does the adoption process work? Does the shelter try to contact my apartment complex to confirm information or what?

We gave her a treatment for fleas last weekend. For a day or so, this seemed to help. Now she's itching & scrathing again. She has allergies including dust mites which we think now is the cause of her problem. We will be taking her to the vetenarian probably in a few days...when we get the time to. Meanwhile...does anybody out there now how to treat dust mites on dogs. I hate to see her suffer. Suggestions much appreciated!!

I have two kittens that I have raised sence they were 3 days old, the mother got killed. The male is wonderful and pretty much listens and stays out of trouble, but my female calico, is into everthing and doesn't listen well. I have tryed just about everything I can do at this point, but when she gets in trouble and punished for it, she get into something else right away. They are both a little over 2 months old. What can I do? I will not give her up, that is not an option!

There is a web site www.thepetitionsite.com. Click on euthanizing Georgia dogs (which is located on the bottem right part of screen, or you can go under animal welfare and look it up). There is a petition going around to stop the gassing of animals in Georgia. They need ten thoudand signatures. It only takes a minute of your time to help out the animals. Sometimes they only keep the animals for 5 days and then throw them in a gas chamber.

My lease says that there are to bed no pets, but the pet addendum says that pets are allowed with a $250 deposit and a rent increase of $25 a month. Am I allowed to have a pet, or not? I have three neighbors that all have cats and dogs but I was told my the apartment management that animals are not allowed. What gives?

My brother and sister-in-law are expecting a baby in December. They have been living together for 3 years, but my brother's jack russell is very protective of him and bites his wife when they're too close together. The dog also refuses to obey the wife. He is very agressive and does whatever he pleases. This is obviously a huge problem with a baby on the way. Any advice on how they can change the dog's attitdue toward the wife? The dog has already been neutered.

My son was just bit by a dog we are watching for the day and I need to know if I need to do anything. It didn't break the skin, but it is a little red and swollen. Is there anything that I need to do because the skin isn't broken. We were told not to play rough because the dog is old but I think my son was being rough.

my dog died very suddenly this past summer and i've been really broken up about it. now i think my grief has started to effect my schoolwork. i just can't get over the fact that he's gone. my mom and i tried looking for a new dog, but neither of us found one that was right for us. now that i'm away at school (where i can't even have my own pet), i don't have transportation to get to the animal shelter (which is far away) to even play with dogs or be around them. they have this thing at our campus vet hospital where you can walk blood donor dogs, but they're all big dogs and i just want to hold and play with a little dog like mickey was. what can i do to make the pain go away????? i just want my mickey back!!!!
