We started with two in a small apartment, then took a friends cat...then had kittens. We only have one left and my husband wants to keep it. We have a slightly larger place now. We have two litter boxes in the laundry room. My husband cleans them once a week but even one day after it starts to smell terrible in my house! Im 10 wks pregnant so I cant change it, it can be a pain to get him too sometimes. I love my cats but its hard to handle the smell now, any suggestions?

How much would a basic aquarium cost, based on all of the chemicals needed to maintain the water and fish, food, filter, and a 20 gallon tank? How much are nice looking salt water fish? I know it will be exepensive, but just looking for a price range so I can get an idea.

*Is a 20 gallon tank small for a salt water aquarium, or would it be better to get a 30 gallon tank?

Thank you.

OK, so, a few months ago I made a post that I was worried about my (then) 17yo indoor kitty.she is such a part of the family I feel like listing her on forms I fill out about # of members in residence. I work from home so obviously I spend more time around her. I asked about her nonstop meowing , y'all helped by explaining this is normal for senior cats in their last couple years (sigh)but the meowing is getting worse. I can tell she's a little confused, BUT she knows where her food, water, favorite sleeping spots, litter box are, never has an accident Her meowing is nowwhere, if I'm not w/in 10 yards of her (& she is awake), she will cry non-stop til I pick her up. I have to get up at night several times when she meows loudly and mournfully until I go tell her I'm here.At Petsmart they have things like chamomille 'calmtabs' or something for 'agitated cats'. My husband said NO, I explained it wasn't like Xanax or something, might help. Has anyone tried it w/success?details please..TY!

I brought in a new kitten, and before I brought him in, my oldest cat was fine. The only thing I notice different, is that the oldest cat seems to eat the kitten food. I am trying to keep her away from it, but she continues to eat it, and since I got the new kitten, she has had very bad diarrhea, and is acting like she doesn't feel well. Could she get like that from eating kitten food at 8 years of age? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A puppy got into my back yard, i put signs all over no one has called. It has short brown coat, we call her ginger thats the right color, she has big giant paws, she has greenish eyes or hazel eyes, floppy heavy ears, strong jaws and square nose (her nose is brown), she is really strong built, her tail is not very long but it thick at the butt growing pointy at the tip. when she came her, about 3 weeks ago she looked like she was about 8 weeks old, she didn't look starved, and had a collar on. Since then she is about 2 times the size when she first came here. She a pain in the ***! She wont leave my cats alone, she chases them pins them, then gets mad when they swipe her, and starts barking a them. Anyone have any ideas what kind of dog this is?

I have a beautiful 2yr, old golden retriver. He's very obedient (in the house). Once we go outside for a walk, it's like taking a fat kid to the candy store! He's wants to go everywhere. He's about 75-80lbs. and he drags me when we walk. I've read things like walk the dog on the leash in a circle so that he knows he has to follow you and give the dog commands so you can get his attention. Unfortunately, none of these things have been working for me. I simply can't get his attention. Someone even suggested I hit him like you would a child. This defintely didn't work b/c he's so sensitive that he became scared I was gonna hit him all the time. I mean, I even let him out for two hours in my backyard so he can get the extra energy out his system. Right now, I can't afford obedience school. Please someone give me advice about walking my dog. All answers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

My cat is about 2 1/2 years old. We've had her since she was three months. As of two weeks ago, she decided that she didn't want to use her litter box any more. She peed on my couch, she peed on the spare bed and she peed on the carpet in the spare bedroom. Her litter box is always kept clean and fresh and it's in a place that's easy for her to access but not the dogs, so I know the dogs aren't the issue. Does anyone have anything I can do to fix her? She's not overweight either if that makes a difference.

My Dog (dobi) is about to turn 4 yrs old, she started having terrible habits such as taking food off the kitchen counter/table to eat, tears apart the kitchen trash and spreads the trash all thru the house. We have tried to correct this but doesn't seem to sink into her brain that she's being bad. Why has she suddenly started to act out this way.

About 7 yrs ago we had to move to the city and the apartment complex we lived in didnt allow animals so I had to give my cat Roudy to my aunt to take care of. Well we would visit sometimes, but everytime he saw me he would run off and hide. He acted like he was scared to death of me and I had him since he was a kitten up until he was adult. He lives with her for a few months and its like he doesnt even know me anymore.

His passed on now, but I would like to know as to why he acted this way cause it broke my heart.

Our cat is almost 8 months old, and we have had him since Sept 11. We got him from our local humane society, so we thought that this would be a good cat to get. We have a 5 year old daughter and an 11 month old son. The cat jumps around, tries to scratch us and bite us. My wife is tired of it, my daugther really wanted a cat but is scared to walk past it, and my son doesn't know what to think. My daughter would be really sad if we have to take the cat back, but I don't know what to do. Any advice?

I have a blue betta named Lucky Louie, and he's been a joy for us.
He has a personality! I have some fresh leaves in there, and we've had him for 4 months. He loves swimming and hiding around them. Today I found him on top of one laying on his side
and not moving, dead like. I kept calling his name and he was dead for certain. I waited and waited and kept banging the tank, I was getting so sad--stupid huh? finally I decided to reach in and move the leaf and he fell off of it and started swimming like normal.
Do you think he wasnt' getting enough O2 and was going into failure because he was at the top of the bowl, almost sticking out!
Now I just checked him again and he's hiding behind another leaf,
could he be sick? What should I know about this behavior?
