Pets - 28 September 2006

I'm planning on getting a budgie this weekend, but I'm not sure if I should get one or two. I know they're social birds, and while I'll interact with him as much as possible the house is empty most days of the week. Should I get two instead of one so they can chat to each other while everyone is out? Would that limit the level of socialisation that'd have with me? I've bought a cage big enough for two, so space isn't a problem.

i own 2 male dogs and 1 female and i think one male is gay because he always rides my other male dog and starts doing what they usually do when they want to **** and he doesn't seem interested about my female dog when she's ready.. i don't know.. could be normal tough.. what do you think??

When my cat play by herself, sometimes she makes a hissing noise at her toys. It's not a real hiss like you would think, more like a "sigh" through her nose. She does it other times too, when she's putzing around, and exploring. Is this normal? What does it mean?

My Burmese cat called Zeus still thinks and acts like a Tom cat, spraying small amounts of pungent urine here and there, I have 3 litter trays for him which are always clean. Yet occassionally each day he will spray.

I was brought up with cats and they've always been let outside - they are animals afterall.
my wife and i now have kittens, and we live on a semi-busy road, i was confident my cats won't kill themselves by running under a bus.
Until this morning when i saw the remains of someone elses cat splattered in the middle of our road.
is it ok to let them in the back garden ONLY when we are there. Or is there away of making them only stay in our garden.

Everyday when I leave for school, I am gone 5 to 8 hrs every day. I come home to my aparment to find a new hole in my wall.. I have a lab, and a dashound...
