My Burmese cat called Zeus still thinks and acts like a Tom cat, spraying small amounts of pungent urine here and there, I have 3 litter trays for him which are always clean. Yet occassionally each day he will spray.

If you got him neutered after he started spraying, he may never stop. I'm not sure what you can do to stop that behavior, maybe someone else here can tell you or you can call your vet and they might be able to.

to clean it up use nature's miracle. it does a great job! you can get it at most pet stores it is in a white bottle with red lettering. get the kind that is for cats.

i have the same problem with my neutered male - occassionally. Usually he does that when he sees other animals out the window - he's marking his territory. So, when i catch him at it, I give him a squirt from my water bottle which I keep handy or clap my hands real loud and say "No!" Both strategies never fail to startle my cat enough to stop spraying that instant... enough times and he begins to associate the startling water squirt or noise with spraying indoors... so he stops... until he forgets again... which could be a few months... then we start the discipline all over again.

I clean the urine off with Petzyme cat stain and urine remover... seems to work OK.

Oh, another thing you can do is spray or wipe his favorite spots for urine sraying with any kind of citrus smelling liquid - cats hate that and will stay away from the area.

we have had our male cat neutered, he still tries to spray but cannot. Whenever he gets near our car he tries to do the spray thing but nothing comes out. it doesn't seem to worry him he must still think he can do it.

1st question is he sterlised? if not do it.
2nd question has any other cat come into your house? he may be claiming territory.
to clean it up use -urine off- make sure you dont use anything that has ammonia in it.
or use a pheremone spray.

PS: they are not "desexed", your cat is still a male he has just been neutered, had his sperm holders removed..
