My husband and I just adopted a new dog and he's still pretty young (somewhere b/w 11 months and 1yr and 8 months). We keep him in his kennel when we're not home. He won't pee while we're not home, but when we do get home, he'll see us, and as we're walking towards him with a leash, he'll lift his leg and start peeing (although he is aiming for outside of hte kennel). He does this every morning and every night. We tell him NO! but he keeps on peeing. My husband is ready to give him back to the adoption agency, but I think this is a problem that we can fix. Does anyone have any advice?

I have bred hamsters for a few years but never bred a tri colour hamster before. She is long haired black, yellow with some white. If she is mated with a dark brown long haired male would she have tri colour females?

I have 3 dogs a Rott/lab mix, a pit/chihuahua mix, and a beagle/collie/jack russel mix. They are all older dogs and are all rescue dogs. My pit mix just started this today she won't leave my side, she is guarding her food, they all have their own bowls and will not go to the others bowl, they play fine together. They are all fixed so I know it has nothing to do with being in season. They have been together for a very long time. It isn't that I have a passion for aggressive dogs it is I have a passion for all animals and if I can help rescue them then I will. I just need some suggestions on how to stop her from doing this.

I have 3 dogs, a rottweiler/black lab mix, a pit bull/chihuahua mix, and a beagle/collie/ jack russel mix. All three of them have lived together for a long time. This morning my pit mix started guarding her food. She has never done that before, she has started growling at the other dogs but she is fine if I reach in front of her. She won't leave my side either. She is healthy and I have called the vet and they are puzzled about it. They each have their seperate bowls and they do not go near each others bowls, they share their toys and do not have a problem with that. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to get her to stop?

My male kuda seahorse is pregnant, I think he has about a week to go and I really want to give the little guys a chance of survival, I don't have a huge budget or much time or space, but if I could give one or two a chance it would be worth the effort. I have been searching google day and night to find out as much as I can about culturing food, trouble is there is so much conflicting advice, ranging from feeding baby brine shrimp, rotifers and copepods, or a mixture and advice on feeding the food! . Yet some sites say you can get a 20% success rate simply by putting zooplankton in a tank in the windowsill and put the fry straight in, if that's the case, what sort of zooplankton and where can I get it? or do I need a nursery and if so is there a simple way to set it up?HELP!!!!

Not being rude but my G/Friends cat let rip this ripper!! I mean it stunk the whole house out 4 an hour. Something so small, but so violent how can this be? Had an old ginger tom that did the same.

She is currently on Medi-Cal Dissolution cat food for 3 months to absorb the crystals. I just bought a big bag of Nutro Natural Choice Complete Care Indoor Adult Cat food a couple of weeks ago. After the 3 months is up, can I feed her the rest of this Nutro food until the bag is done, then put her on the Medi-Cal maintenance food to prevent crystals reoccurring? Or should I suck up my loss of $25 from Nutro and go directly to the Medi-Cal maintenance food after the 3 months is up?

(We got kitty a couple of months ago from SPCA. She is Siamese/Persian mix. Probably was given up because she was peeing outside of the litterbox and the owners probably didn't know better to take her to the vet. I took her to the vet and they found crystals in her urine. Was feeding her premium cat food since we got her.)

I have a 7 month old kitten that I got from the animal shelter. She had been kept in a cage with one of her litter mates and now she tries to snuggle and cuddle with me like she did with the other kitty. (I would like to have taken them both, but I couldn't). The only problem with this is that she wants to "paw" my neck area and her claws are so sharp that no matter how gently she does it it's quite painful and she ripping by neck to shreds!! This is starting to effect how much I am willing to cuddle with her and I don't want to get to the point where I don't want to at all!! I was thinking that I might have to have her declawed but was afraid it would be very painful for her and then I read about "soft claws". Has anyone used these and can you tell me how it feels when they "paw" you with them on. Does it help? I know it will help with her scratching on things, but I am mainly interested in whether it will help when she "paws" me.

i am totally sad. Two days back one of my cats was surrounded by three street dogs. They smashed him before we could save him. He was severely wounded near the stomach area. The dogs have bitten him . There were two big injuries of atleast an inch deep. The blood has clotted.Yesterday we took him to the hospital. They gave him a ARV(Anti Rabies Vaccine) and cleaned the wound with tincher and applied an white paste. two days my cat did not take any food. i had to make him take some milk with a quarter of a tablet mixed in it. The doctor gave a cream (I think its some sulphate cream for preventing bacteria) and adviced me to apply in the wounds. I did that perfectly, but my cat shouts in pain and soon after shouting its cleaning the wound. my bothering is that will the cream go inside his mouth and cause any side effects? will it do any harm? please answer me.

but I don't know if it is illegal to have them as a pet or if it is illegal to buy them either. I don't need a sea otter just a regular river otter. It would be great if you guys could help me. Thanks in advance.

I may be adopting a small dog, but I'm need to know how much time I'm going to have to be at home and how long I'm going to be able to leave her. I don't work full-time but will have to leave her in the house 4 or 5 hours a few times a week. There may be a couple of occasions that I need to leave her longer, maybe 7 or 8 hours, but only rarely. Is this fair? Some people I've spoken to say it's cruel to leave a dog alone for so long, others say it's fine as long as she's got space and toys and somewhere to 'go', and I take her for lots of walks and look after her when I am there. What do you think? Don't want to take her on if I'm going to be doing something that isn't good for her! Advice from more experienced dog owners would be much appreciated.
