I have bred hamsters for a few years but never bred a tri colour hamster before. She is long haired black, yellow with some white. If she is mated with a dark brown long haired male would she have tri colour females?

She sounds very pretty. Since the dark colors are dominate, you will most likely have some solid dark colors and possible tri colors..

I bred hamsters years ago and we got some beautiful colors. You might try getting a light color long haired (teddy bear) male and trying him with your female. Or a solid white with a few dark spots on him would be pretty with your female.

Good luck.. They should be very pretty.

When my hampsters mated, the female was the brown one with short hair. The dad was a long haired multi-colored one. All the babies were brown. None were multi-colored.
