I work as a groomer, and the stuff we use is called "Fresh-n-Clean". It's a cologne you spray on after the bath and it keeps the dogs smelling sweet for up to a week. A huge percentage of my clients buy a can for home and spritz the pups in between baths. I do the same for my dogs--keeps them smelling GOOD! There is fresh floral, tropical, and baby power. I prefer the floral. They sell this at any of your big pet stores.

The dry baths and pet wipes are a waste, in my opinion. Messy and your dog will still smell funny. In my opinion, cologne is the way to go.

Some breeds of dogs tend to have an odor. Hounds dogs can have an odor. I have a coonhound an I need to give her multiple baths. I also use different waterless bath products.

Sometimes a dog can get smelly because they have dirty ears and the smell gets in their fur. I get some liquid ear cleaner from the vet. All you have to do is out some in the dogs ear and it cleans out the ear.

There is a product called Quick Bath you can get at pet stores, and maybe even Target or Kmart. It's a moistened towelette that comes in small dog and large dog sizes. Just rub the pooch with it and you're in business. It really helps.

Yes, try using a dry bath. You can get them at any pet store. It's a bottle of powder that you sprinkle on and brush out. It absorbs oils and dirt in the fur, and leaves the dog shiny and fresh. It's really fast and doesn't need water.

Errr.........first of all, how long are the in-between baths?

I think dogs need a bath once every fortnight to a month, no?

If it's less frequent than that, poor doggie!

Well, I don't think he cares himself, so you shouldn't too. But if you do, then you'll just have to knuckle down to all the cleaning and grooming and preening.

All he should need is a thorough grooming weekly. You can get sprays made for dogs at a pet store to use as you're brushing, or you can put a bit of hair conditioner in a spray bottle, fill it with water and shake it up really well. Mist him with that, then brush through with your pin brush.

Some breeds have a certain doggy odor which even bathing doesn't do any good. I think beagles are one of them.

You can rub his fur with a dryer softener sheet.
He won't like the 'pretty' smell, but you will.
