I have a yellow lab ( I think ) and a few convict cichlids. I'm pretty sure all my convicts are females...but I'm unsure about the sex of the yellow fish.

Red Zebras seem to breed with any other Mbuna. And I've seen red devils crossed with convicts and parrots, so I would say it's possible.

yes, they can. because if you have the same variety of fish but different kind they can.

for example.
a betta cannot spawn with a discus but a male betta can spawn with a female betta.

I have these fish as well and I know that they can be hard to sex unless you examine their vents. Try these sites, maybe they will help.
