I have an over affectionate cat and lately when I give her attention she starts salivating and slobbering all over. Why is she doing that?

I bought a adult iguana from the pet store last weekend. When I bought him he will let me hold hm. I held him all the way home. Since then him will not let anyone around him. I have never had an iguana before and I bought him for my son. We have tried to just leave him alone. We also tried to just pet him. But anytime we get around him, he'll swipe his tail at us. I don't know what to do.

i have been looking at different dogs and i always liked the look of beagles but i have heard & read that they are not the easies to train. but my friend has one an its like the sweetest dog ever and its all trained and everything, can somebody talk about them from experience?
i have always loved bassets, i have heard that they are fairly easy to train. anybody can talk from experience?
german shorthair pointer. i have read that they are really smart but have a high activity level. i am not wanting such a high activity level. i have looked at so many dogs from rotties to beagles to bassets to goldens- i would like to hear from experience on other peoples dogs so i can get this narrowed down. i am looking for a breed that is mellow, not dog aggressive, and easy to handle and train. any good ideas? please talk from experience!

I know dogs need exercise everyday and that's what I've been doing. But I had stayed out for a couple days and my friend and I walked our dogs all day coming and going... Well, I got sunburned and if I go outside anymore, it'll just get worse. So, how am I supposed to walk my dog when I can't go back outside? It's scorching hot over here (Louisiana) and I dunno what to do. It's REALLY hard to resist going to walk my dog b/c it's so much fun, but... eh???

My BF LOVES beagles, I plan to get him one after graduation as a gift to keep him company for college. I was wondering if besides regular vet visits and food and toys, how expensive is it to care for one seeing as college students have limited funds. are they especially prone to certain health issues? will they be good in a small space like an apartment? are they ok alone for a good chunk of the day, for classes and such? He may get me one too (for college aswell), I think they are adorable, so another question is: people say thier lovable, are they loyal too...are they as good of dogs as people say they are?

also, how expensive would it be to get a beagle as a puppy?

My family and I have spent a long time selecting a dog breed that would be right for our home. After much consultation of friends/family, books & websites featuring online breed-family compatibility questionnaires, we concluded our search, deciding on a Whippet.

We also gave a lot of thought to whether we would be better with a puppy or an adult dog. Given that my husband and I both work outside the home (and thus do not have the time required to housetrain a puppy), we determined that an adult dog is the best choice for us.

While many breeders etc. offer purebed Whippet PUPPIES in Canada, only two "Whippet Rescue" type adoption agencies offering ADULT Whippets.

We've come so far over such a long period of time that the idea of a 1- or 2-year-long waiting list is discouraging.

Is there a better/faster way to purchase/adopt a housetrained, friendly and gentle ADULT WHIPPET in Canada? We are located in Mississauga, Ontario (west-GTA/Toronto).

Thanks!
Natalie

My cat has really bad fleas, and my mom and I are sensitive to their bites. I have to give him away. I love my cat so much, and I cry every day. How do I handle it?

We have a female beagle mix dog that no longer has her pups (as of yesterday) and still has milk in her. She's mainly an outside dog and has the run of our / her yard but the last 4 weeks we've had her and her pups inside the house because of the exteme heat conditions where we live. The normal thing would be to let the mamma back outside but is that okay to do since she still needs to dry up her milk? She's somewhat uncomfortable at this point , but could she develop milk fever if we put her back out in the heat?

Been to the vet twice and noone can tell me the cause. On both occasions, cat was given antibiotic jabs, painkiller and antibiotics to be taken twice daily. Problem doesn't seem to go away. Cat is overweight.
