Put the trash where she can't get into it. I put mine in the pantry and then I don't have to worry about it. How long do you leave her inside at a time? She needs to go out at least every 8 hours at her age. And she could be having bladder problems and can't hold it as long. Before you leave be certain to let her go outside to do her business. If she continues to wet on the floor take her to the vet and see if she has a medical problem causing the wetting.

She is mad cause you leave her alone while out working. Place hot peppers or out of the shaker of a pepper bottle. When she gets that up her nose she will eventually stop. She may need her own space when you leave. Make sure it isn't on carpet. Place newspapers down, food, water bowl. Get a friend or someone close by to take outside and spend time with her. A kid will do it for a few dollars, kids love playing with dogs.
She is lonely for you and is showing you by getting into garbage and peeing on floor. Some dogs can stay at home without someone there others won't.

She's just a baby, we were all like that when we were six, she'll grow out of it....but seriously, if she goes through the trash you are putting something in there that appeals to her sense of smell and you are probably not feeding her enough, and if she keeps peeing on the floor either get her checked for a bladder or kidney infection or just let her out more - so she can pee outside/ if you have not already trained her to go through the cat flap or to scratch on the door when she needs to go, then you need to train her to do that/ or get her trained. Possibly get her a partner to play with and keep her busy.

Peeing on the floor, inside, why do you think? It's because she isn't getting out Hugh, now she may have predisposing reasons for needing to go pee so often.
When, if ever was she checked for diabetes? Does she drink a lot also?
That could also be the reason she was hitting the trash, because she is hungry.
But if her sugar isn't high then the odds are you just need to train her.

Have you tried limiting her to one room or area of your house while your away? I would try that and take things out that area that you don't want her to get into. Also with the trash situation, we close the doors in the bathrooms so our dog can't play with them and in the kitchen we have a stainless steel can with a cover. The dog can't get into that trash can either. Also I would make sure you let you dog out to use the bathroom before you leave. Good Luck!

It is separation anxiety she freaks when you leave thinking you will not come back.
Try leaving for 2 min then 4 then 6 then 8 then 10 repeat and repeat until she gets the drift that you will comeback. Each time you leave make it for a longer time. When you come in correct the behavior and wait for a few mins and do it again this could take a week or two to get it straighten out.

She pees on the floor... that is because you do not let her out enough (outside) during the day so she can pee on the outside. And.. as far as the trash.. my dog does that also because she is looking for something to eat

It sounds like it could potentially be a behavior issue. The first two steps would be to make sure she doesnt have a urinary issue (which I doubt because shes getting into the trash as well). Ever thought about crate training her? Its not cruel if managed in the right way, and a life saver for many.

sounds like seperation anxiety to me too.
I'd try either putting the trash out of her reach like closing it up in a cabinett or something. Or I've heard sprinkling some Cayenne pepper on top of the trash before you go works too and the dog will learn quickly to leave the trash alone........hehehe
I would also try confining her to one room when you leave, some dogs get anxiety when you leave them and give them full run of the house, it's too much for them and it stresses them out and that's why they act out and get into things. My 10 yr old labX used to do the same thing, but after we got her a little Shih tzu to keep her company and started confining her to just one room, she is totally relaxed and not stressed out when we're gone (I've left the video camera on before to watch what she does and she just goes to the bed and sleeps til we get home).

She's lonely. Dogs are pack animals, if you leave them alone for too long they will get lonely just like humans. Her acting out is a way to get your attention. If you can try getting a companion for her, or hire a dog walker for her during the time you are at work.
