I have an over affectionate cat and lately when I give her attention she starts salivating and slobbering all over. Why is she doing that?

Mine does the same thing!! LOL.

She's probably kneading at the same time too, right? You know, that thing where she pushes her paws into you in an alternating rhythm while she's purring? It's because when they're kittens and nursing from mom, they knead mom on either side of the nipple to stimulate the milk to flow. When they get older, they still do the kneading action when they're feeling happy/content, as if they were nursing from mom. The drooling comes in because they're salivating, as if they're nursing. It's all part of the same thing.

Take it as a compliment. She's showing you a lot of affection, even if it's messy. Sometimes my cat drools so much I have to grab a towel and put it under him!

i've got have been given one that does this too. he's been blind in view that beginning and that i think of his mouth is fairly deformed, that would have some thing to do with it... he's 15 so it hasn't incredibly had any important result. although... maximum cats salivate/or their nostril runs/or some thing whilst they purr. i do no longer understand precisely which it fairly is, yet on the entire they only swallow it. you will usually see a purring cat supply up for a 2d, swallow, then circulate on purring. for sure some persons in simple terms are not getting the knack!

I have two cats that do that. I just think that they are really into me petting them. It may be a bit gross but its sweet.

I have one that does that too. He even sticks his tongue out sometimes. It just means they are happy.
