I have 2 girl cats and I love their names...
Halo and Gracie.
I always think it is cute when people name their pets people names, like Gracie, or Isabella, or Rachel. It's just funny. But pets become like family or our 'kids' to us, so I think it is a good thing to name them like people, instead of typical pet names like, spot, or lady. It just gives them more character and personality.

Hey, I trained dogs and raised dogs for the Govt.
Just a word of advice..
Dogs ONLY understand a one syllable word when you talk and call them, so make the name short.

you've got to be around the pup a little bit, and get to know the personality....the name will fall into place. we've had a mindy, sarah, beasley (yes, female) salley (the best pooch ever!!) we've got a buster, abbey, and samantha for now. best of luck with your new dog!!

ok, whippets are not frou-frou dogs so they need a name that is appropriate. try 'people' names like bella, bonnie, skye but nothing like tiny or bitsy.

i dont know depends on the look and personality my dog is a boy but the girl dog acrosst the street that he is mating with name is beauty my dogs nickname is the beast
