We have a female beagle mix dog that no longer has her pups (as of yesterday) and still has milk in her. She's mainly an outside dog and has the run of our / her yard but the last 4 weeks we've had her and her pups inside the house because of the exteme heat conditions where we live. The normal thing would be to let the mamma back outside but is that okay to do since she still needs to dry up her milk? She's somewhat uncomfortable at this point , but could she develop milk fever if we put her back out in the heat?

Milk fever? I don't really know what that is. Is it something that could be controlled with asprin? A dog can take a low dose of asprin, but do NOT give them Tylenol or any other asprin substitute. Your best bet would be to consult a veterinarian by phone and ask. Anyone in here can SAY they are a vet, but that doesn't necessisarily make them one. I'm no vet. I just lived with an uncle who was going to Texas A&M veterinary school and have rescued many injured dogs and other animals. Oh, on rescuing animals... if you find an injured bat, don't call animal control or they will just destroy the bat for fear of rabies. One accidentally ran into my house and I called them. They took it and I insisted that they check it after they told me they were going to destroy it. They destroyed it, then checked the brain and found no sign of rabies. That upset me.

"milk fever" has nothing to do with heat. Of course shes uncomfortable.....as long as you dont let the pups nurse her, her milk will dry up. As long as shes nursing her milk will continue to drop. Her pups are 4 weeks old? They should start having teeth about now, shell let them know when shes all done. The heat outside has nothing to do with milk fever, aka hypocalcemia, or mastitis. (two totally diffent issues) Let her do her thing, just make sure ahe has plenty of shade and water....oh yea get her spayed ASAP!

How old are her puppies? You should not take her puppies away till she naturally stop feeding them. This is only natural.
The dog is feeling motherhood, still needs to feed her babies. Return her babies back for some time every day till her milk dries up naturally.

I do not understand your question.. why can't you let the mama dog out for 15 or so minutes each day(several times during the day) and then back into the house so she can nurse her babies?
