How do I do it and what materials do I need?

We have a new rolled flat roof and want to install a deck on it. Wood is too heavy and vinyl't too expensive. We can't use a water soluble product because there are some areas where water pools when it rains. Does anyone make some sort of rubberized material which can be laid over the roofing material or sprayed onto the rolled roofing which is durable enough to make a deck?

I ripped out a 30 x 60 tub/shower and am replacing with a 34x 60 walk in shower (prefab fiberglass pan). The plumbing is currently a 2" drain that tees into a 1.5" tub drain and 1.5" tub overflow drain. My plan is to cut off the t and replace with a 1.5" elbow connected to the shower drain. Will this work and will there be any venting problems? I.e. is the venting already handled by the existing plumbing (which is below concrete slab I can't see). thanks!!

I am a very messy person but i want to keep my room clean now. (i am 15.) I don't want a childish room. i want it to be pretty and mature. I have wood floors and light purple walls. My room is pretty big. Online sites say my bed should not go in between the door and the window or too close to the door but those are the only places i can put my bed. What color dresser/desk/bookcase/bedsheets should i get? what are some things i should put on the wall? i love music and the ocean.
what is a way i can make my room brighter? it always seems so dark.

We had porcelain floor tiles put down in the kitchen about 4 months ago, today I noticed what looked liked little black dots on afew of them but on closer inspection they are like little pin holes, does anyone know what causes this.

30'X15': So long and skinny. Floors are light hardwood, pool table is dark stained, room is white right now and there is a west facing plate glass window. Not sure what color would help bring out the hardwood floors and table the best, everything else in the room can be changed. Also thinking about doing crown molding, any suggestions?

The last 3 pairs of sheets I bought got bumps on them, or pilling, or whatever. I spent $99 for the last set, from Macy's.

I can see if cheap sheets would do that, but is $99 cheap? Maybe. It seems like sheets do this more and more.

What are good sheets to buy that stay nice and soft?

I am buying a new house (it's only about 6 years old), anyways, the bedroom I plan on making my son's bedroom has a panel box on the wall you look at as soon as you enter the room. I can't understand why the people who built the house didnt put it behind the door. Nevertheless, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about how to make the panel box inconspicuous without totally blocking the panel box. But please, dont anyone tell me to just pick a different room to be my sons room -- I picked this room because it'll be closest to my room.

My walls in one of the bedrooms has been covered with wallpaper, and was semi taken off and then covered with paint (them being originally paster walls) and i was wondering an easy was to at least take the paint off or if possible everything at once with out messing up the plaster under it?? This being easy, with as little scraping as possible (cause all this scarping just isn't working, on hard paint and wallpapers scraps)

all this being done without hiring a professional...

We are in need of more cabinet space in our some what small kitchen. We are gonna knock out one wall and open the kitchen to what will be a family room. We will also turn a 5.5 foot wide window, in the family room, into a patio door that will lead out to a soon to be deck.

We have a kitchen door that is now 3.5 feet adjacent to where said patio door will be in 6 months. We have been getting different opinions on our kitchen back door. some people say yeah remove it for more cabinets. Some say no keep if for emergency exit.

My question is if we should keep the door even though we will have another set of doors 3.5 feet away in the family room on the same wall. what do you think.

Please try to explain your answer. your opinion will help me decide.

Thanks.

B/f John has scraped off the old paper, sized the walls and re-papered our living room BUT the paper won't stay stuck. He's using that paste that sticks a guy to a board carried by a helicopter so we know it should stick. So- It must be the wallpaper. But why would they sell a wallpaper that won't stick for more than a couple of hours? But most importantly- Help.

We just bought a 90-year old small house with a new-ish looking stone wall flanking the windows in the living room. The stone is light beige with dark grey grout. The window and other trim is medium brown stained wood. The rug is off white with specs of other colors. We have steely-blue chairs and probably mistakenly purchased rustic black painted end and coffee tables. Should I, can I, paint the stone? If I don't, what wall color would tie the stone and the furniture together??
