I have some heavy, quality furniture to sell: a oak dining table with matching chairs and an Ethan Allen cherry sleigh bed. If I list them with ebay or a similar on-line place, I'd have to include a sizeable shipping fee. Would it be better to put an ad on craigs list or the local newspaper or where? thanks ; )

Hi, our house has one particular living area that has a 22 foot celiing on it. The whole house is done with light colored carpets, paint, and stone flooring in some areas. There are three big windows in the living area, a 5 foot space, then 3 more windows just above the bottom three. I don't want to loose the open-air feeling of the room, but all the curtains I look at (for the bottom 3 windows) make me think I'm going to close in the room if I use anything but white. I don't really want sheers right there, and there are no blinds on those windows (which I dont' want anyway). What can I do? What are some color suggestions that will look nice all year long?

We bought this house 9 years ago and at the time, we thought the pine floors looked just great but as time went by, the gaps between the boards kept getting wider and wider. So now, we don't think it looks so good anymore. We were told sanding and re finishing would not take care of the gaps, in some places, the spaces between boards is nearly 1/4 inch. Any ideas?

I've been charged with the task of fixing up the sh1t hole we like to call the basement of our fraternity. We've been given a $2000 budget for a number of neat little improvements that we can make. Right now there is a concrete tile floor that's filthy, stained, and cracked in some places. What I'm hoping for is a number of effective suggestions for cheap, durable, and easy to install flooring for our basement.

To give you an idea of the amount of abuse that it will be subject to, we regularly enjoy various beer drinking activities that results in a fair amount of brew being spilled all over, which is then moped up by a cleaning service within the week.

Following the remodeling we're hoping to be able to eat down there, so there will be tables and chairs being dragged across the floor frequently, with food/drink being spilled on it daily.

I will be getting a new bedroom in a few months and it is about medium size and I would like the decorating theme to be Alice in Wonderland. The Disneys movie and the scene where alice is in the Golden Afternoon Garden. You know, with the big flowers and mushrooms etc... I have a loft bed and they might build one of those ebcesses windowd where it goes out and theres a window seat. I also have a dresser that is raw wood so I can paint it or stain it. My bed is a light pine wood but I cannot stain or paint it.... sooo.... any ideas to decorate my room? Any I can start now before my room is built?
