im a designer and im doing my master research and we are allowed to pick any commerical or residential place and make it work....... so my question to u is whether do create a a cigar bar which is moslty display with an non alcoholic bar and lounge area or a restaurant with different areas that represent different disney movies like....potc.lady and the tramp ....... nemo..... thanx

the reason i first wanted to go with a cigar lounge is bc i wanted to create something different they r 11 ppl in my class and only 4 are different....... a church ....a day spa.....a ski house...a community center...... everyone else is creating a restaurant .....or bar....club type scene

The Disney restaurant sounds like lots of fun. It's different and unique (outside of DisneyWorld), so people will be attracted to that. However, what are the clients like around the area? Would they go for such an idea? I think I would go with that one over the cigar bar. The cigar bar doesn't sound like anything much different than every other place on the street, and a cigar bar with no alcohol doesn't sound much like it would go over too well to me.

If you do the cigar bar, you have to have brandy or scotch. So I dont think it would work too well making it a non alcoholic type of place. Just my opinion... Of course a cigar bar would garner you more respect as a designer I think. But commercially speaking, you'd gain more popularity, commercially speaking, doing the Disney movie themed restaurant. Since parents spend more money to keep their kids happy. Depending on which way you go, dont hesitate in asking me for ideas, just contact me and I'll be happy to do what I can....

Create the cigar bar.
Let a miilion others bore your advisor with a discount store restaurant. Anyone can throw colors and kitsch together and say it has a theme with grade-A chops like Disney and therefore the clashing, unworkable colors should be celebrated not failed. And anyone can instill a happy, playful mood in children.
Doing so in worn-out adults looking for a very adult, intimate, and rather wealthy-feeling decadent yet rich backdrop is much more of a challenge.

I think the cigar bar would be more impressive and would showcase your skills better. It's more "grown-up." It will be difficult to keep the restaurant from looking like a nursery or a preschool.

I would go with the personality of your professor and the one you think they would like better - since that is where you get your grade. Also - which do you feel more "inspired" about? That will probably show in your work.
