The sea horse is a wonderful symbol of the male role in parenthood and birthing process, as the male carries its young within it own body. It is also considered an symbol of Safe Travel. Unfortunately a dead sea horse is very YIN. Good Feng Shui is where the balance of Yin and Yang achieve harmony. Just like preserved butterflies or taxidermied animals, they bring upon a very depressing or dark energy of death. This imbalance of yin/yang energies can cause instability by lowering the energies around it. I do hope you find a good use for your sea horse but my suggestion would be to bury it in the NW outside the house, this is the patriarch or father section of the dwelling. It is also considered the Heaven Palace. This will help to show respect for its life and to symbolize the fatherly energy of the home.

Being that "feng shui" is a totally make believe concept (just try and pin down the exact mathematical equations that supposedly guide the room planer and you'll be wasting your time. Because no such equations exist) the sea horse is just decoration.
