Which colors would you choose (the house has white trim):

Med-dark gray w/ black shutters
or
Med-dark brown w/ very dark brown shutters

Any particular reason why?

I have alot of expierance in house colors... I hope maybe I can help. Last year we painted a guys house a meduim dark grey with black shutters. At first when we went to my husbands work (The paint store) we were a little hesitant on the colors. But once we got them on the house it looked AMAZING! It really looked rick and clean. We are currently building our own home (which will be done in march) and we liked the color so much that We have decided to do ours very similiar. The only thing different is we are having a dark blue grey with white trim and black as our accent color! (accent- doors, shutters, ect.) So in my opinion I would go with the med-dark grey w/ black shutters :) Also there is a reallly fun sight where you can apply colors you like to the house and see what it may look like on the house verses a paint chip! It is really a blast. Here is the web sites...

med dark gray with black shutters. i think that the black shutters and the white trim will pop against the dark gray. but it depends on the color of your roof. if your roof is blackish/gray then defiantly go with the dark gray with the black shutters. if your roof is tan than go with the brown combo. i have a tan roof and that is my biggest problem, finding a color to go with the roof

I would choose the med-dark gray w/black shutters because I haven't seen too many houses that are brown that really look that good.

Of the two, med gray. The black shutters is so common, isn't there something else to add more interest? Maybe dark green?
I hate brown on houses, it is depressing. Anything is good, though, as long as it isn't YELLOW - I hate yellow siding!

What color is the roof ????? That's how I would decide. Then there's the front door. I'm partial to the brown's (earthy things) but I also like the dark grey's too. Hence the roof question.

It would depend on the shade of brown. A light brown with dark brown shutters may not be too bad but I think both choices are a little drab.

Neutral colors like beiges and browns combine well with white trim and give the room a natural feel.

It kinda depends on the brown, but I've never liked the look of brown vinyl (beige-dark beige is good). I'd go with grey out of those two.

I chose my siding based on the type of flowers and shrubs I'm going to plant. I think the yard colors would pop a bit more against the medium gray.

I personally would choose the browns. I think brown is very natural looking and different tones of the same color almost always looks great!
