Hi, our house has one particular living area that has a 22 foot celiing on it. The whole house is done with light colored carpets, paint, and stone flooring in some areas. There are three big windows in the living area, a 5 foot space, then 3 more windows just above the bottom three. I don't want to loose the open-air feeling of the room, but all the curtains I look at (for the bottom 3 windows) make me think I'm going to close in the room if I use anything but white. I don't really want sheers right there, and there are no blinds on those windows (which I dont' want anyway). What can I do? What are some color suggestions that will look nice all year long?

i might want to actual cause them to myself. I easily have made my own curtains and that i'm not very strong at sewing. you actually ought to degree the abode windows and are available to a decision how a lot you want the curtains to bunch up, and what number panels you want. Then on the bottom of each panel, merely stitch the aspect lower than so is a sparkling aspect. on the suitable of the panel, you want to go away extra fabric because you'll fold it lower than about 8 inches. about 7 inches from the suitable of the curtain, you'll stitch throughout. Now you've slightly pouch on the suitable. then you truthfully will do a similar component, a million-4 inches above the row of sewing you probably did on the suitable. the point is to make slightly pouch/row that the curtain rod is going to slip by. you may have some inches of fabrics on the suitable which will be above the rod, and then wonderful curtains below :) Tab suitable curtains are fairly basic too in case you want to bypass for that look. you locate a very sturdy ribbon that matches your curtain fabrics. You stitch lower than the suitable and bottom fringe of the curtain panel. then you truthfully connect about 8 inches or so of the ribbon, some inches aside, all throughout the suitable. you should use a stitching gadget for all of this, its a lot a lot less stressful and speedier. strong success! Your mom might want to in all likelihood already understand what to do anyhow, and curtains are extremely common :)

Girl... You're going to have to take a second mortgage out on your house to buy curtains that big! They (window treatments) are the most expensive thing you can buy in a new house!

I just bought a curtain for my bathroom window... simple, plain nothing special... $45.00

Good luck to you! Holy crap!

Check out HGTV or call JC penney or Macys interior design if you can afford it.

I personally would be learning how to sew if I were you!
