I installed a 4 light vanity lights in my bathroom. I decided to install it with the globs/bulbs facing up instead of down, and now I'm having second thoughts. The bulbs are about 3 1/2 - 4 inches from the ceiling, and I was concerned about them catching the house on fire. Would they get hot enough to catch the ceiling on fire in my bathroom? I put 60 watt bulbs in them.

Why is the front of the house with the big porch always faceing the road? How come the best looking part of the house, doesn't face the back yard? Everyone spends more time in the back yard then the front yard, yet the best looking part of the house is in the front yard. Why?

Well I know for sure that it is not. We have today been gazumped on the deal we had made for buying a house. We have also sold our house and should be moving out in just over a week. We are now going to have to do the same to the buyers of our house.
I feel very angry and don't know if there is anything we can do.

I have a flower bed in front of my house that faces east. I get good early morning sun, but some of it is filtered by a big cottonwood tree. It's shade in the afternoon. I can get things to grow, but not thrive in the bed. It does not drain very well, but we don't get all that much rain, either. I have tried roses and some different shrubs, but nothing works! I would like to try hydrangeas this year, but I'm worried that they will stay small and puny. Is it the shade, drainage, or soil quality? Please help! The front of my house is naked!!!

Whole house has popcorn ceilings and I want to remove it all. Some areas come off in chunks, but others are on pretty good. Is tedious scraping the only way to remove the popcorn plaster? or can steam/water be introduced to make the removal easier?

Lately I've been thinking about making baby hair bows and headbands. I don't know what heat sealer to use to stop fraying. I DON'T want to use the spray or glue. Can you use the one you use you on plastic?

I'm getting my house painted. I just received a quote. The guy told me 1 color was nice. Said others were nice 2, but wouldn't coordinate w/ main color. The colors are Sherwin Williams Quixotic Plum as an accent wall in the family room and Mystic Mauve on the other walls. The main areas would be Latte. That's where he said the clash is coming.

This is how downstairs flows: Entry way to a 2 story foyer Immediately in front of you on right, stairs. To the left formal area - living & dining. From that room, or a hall, you come to the kitchen w/ a bay eat in. All those wall will be in Latte. Then you come to the family room. The wall facing you will be Quixotic Plum. The others will be Mystic Mauve. His suggestion is to do it Latte and do the other formal room QP. (no furniture yet - wanted the formal red).

What is y'all opinion? Is $1000 +200 4 paint bad? I'd say it's 1300 sq ft area - plus upstairs hall. The trim would be white - said cheaper to touch up stairrail.

I have a 50+ year old house. In the kitchen I have the original cabinets on the wall, that are solid oak. The cabinets are showing their age. Some of the joints are seperating. I am a handiman by choice. My question is this, has anyone ever sucsessfully removed wall cabinets, reglued the joints, refinised (we're thinking a painted enamel surface) and rehung them. Please no smart butt answers. I already know I can have them refaced or replaced.
