this house we may buy has a smoke smell...its mostly wood flooring though. only the bedrooms have carpet. and, its already been painted. also, how can we clean the ceilings if it has popcorn ceiling? oh, they're furniture is already moved out so its not like that is stinking it up.

I used the scoring tool, the wet pad...let it sit for nearly an hour (just like the directions said) and when I went to remove the wallpaper (a border), the first layer of drywall came with the paper. The only thing I can think is that the guy who put it up (previous home owner) used super glue or something to hold the paper to the wall?!

I accidentally spilled candle wax on a backpack, mostly synthetic material. It dried instantly and I'm having trouble getting it off. Can't scrape it off completely. Whats the best way to get it off completely without damaging the backpack?

the emulsion that has been painted over artex in the bathroom is beginning to peel of - probably the artex wasn't sealed before applying the emulsion - any thoughts on how to remove the paint? - or would it be simpler to seal the whole lot and then re-paint over the sealant. removeing the artex not really an option - too messy, and possibilities of asbestos...
cheers for any advices

I come from a upper middle class (not rich) and I have already quit seeing advertisements or thinking of buying lands/apartments/flats due to the reason that the real estate prices have gone beyond my level of income to buy plots/apartments/flats. A common man like me in India have to forget even thinking about buying any real estate. When this is so what is the Government going to do for the poor people to buy land or houses to live. Shelter for all have taken a heavy toll on the poor people.

Would you use an environmentally friendly, packaging free supermarket?
i.e. one where you brought in your old coffee jars, detergent bottles, egg boxes, washing powder boxes etc etc and had them filled up. It wouldn't sell everything, but most of what you need. If you had no container, it would be supplied in a paper bag, or in a container you could re-use next time. Products would be the same trusted brand names that are sold everywhere else, not cheaper, inferior versions.
Concerns about food in tamper-free containers would be addressed.
Please answer honestly as I'm opening this shop next year, and this is my paper-free, environmentally friendly market research! (Well, it's relatively green compared with mailshots, paper surveys etc..)
