I used the scoring tool, the wet pad...let it sit for nearly an hour (just like the directions said) and when I went to remove the wallpaper (a border), the first layer of drywall came with the paper. The only thing I can think is that the guy who put it up (previous home owner) used super glue or something to hold the paper to the wall?!

I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU MEAN AND NO NO NO. IT SHOULD NOT.

The wall was not primed before the border was put up.

I rushed removing paper in my sons room once and didn't soak it well enough and pulled a section of the dry wall off. Fortunately it is behind a door . But it has never been right since.

When I wall paper I ALWAYS use a gallon of wallpaper paste and do not count on the prepasted paper. It peals better when the time comes.

The drywall should not be coming apart. You're going to have a lot of repair work ahead of you. I had the same situation with wallpaper removal.

After you get all the wall paper off, use a utility knife to cut off any loose drywall paper. Then treat each damaged spot with a primer for damaged drywall. Zinnser or Zissner (not sure of spelling) makes a good one. When that is dry put a thin coat of drywall mud over the damaged areas. Let it dry, sand it and put on additional coats until you get a good smooth surface. Then prime and repaint.

Same thing happened to me - I lost lots of the drywall paper with the wallpaper. I tried to use plaster to patch the 'holes' but it didn't work...when I painted, the brown paper got wet through the plaster/spackle and now there's these marks that look like fern leaves on the wall under the paint. It's a neat effect, but not one I had in mind. I hope someone gives you a good answer, 'cause I could sure use help on this, too!

There should only be one layer of drywall, so I'm not sure what you mean
If it's the only the paper of the drywall that came off you can repair it with some drywall compound, if it's the actual piece of drywall then you will have to cut out the damaged strip and replace with new drywall
Isn't remodeling fun?

In the UK once we dry wall we skim the wall with plaster board finish if you also do this in the US it would appear that the wall has not been skimmed and you have also removed the paper from the dry wall. Use pva glue with water to paint the area and the plaster, unless the board is damaged and then do as others suggest.

No it should not. If it is, then the wall was not sized.

I would make any repairs you need to thus far then just paint over the wallpaper, apparently the wallpaper will not come off.

No! I don't know what you should do, but I know if you take the drywall paper off, you will have to replace the drywall!
