It stains the ceiling tiles and spreads and sometimes drips down close to the wall. The happens on mobile homes as well? Any suggestions?

I do live in a cold, snowy area and I know the house is poorly insulated. Thanks to all who answered.

Call a roofer.

Sounds like you have had ice-dams on your roof. That's if you live in a cold snowy area. If that is the case then you have some damage done and need to call a roofer. Having ice dams means your house does not have enough insulating. The snow on your roof keeps melting and freezing too fast. If you have been getting a lot of rain I would also call a roofer and see if there are any holes in the roof.

You could have a roof leak, so a roofing contractor could check that out. Or if you are living in an area with cold winters and snow, chances are you have bypasses allowing the warm moist air from your home to escape into your attic. The air freezes on the roofline, and then as it the temperature rises, it melts again, dripping onto and through your insulation. Most likely you also do not enough insulation.

First of all check the slope of your roof, it must be smooth, no water collection at any point. As fast water drains out less chances to leak down.
There is a permanent solution and temporary solution.
Temporarily, clean the roof well, let it dry and apply a liquid coat of silicon, available in drums.
For permanent solution, you have to remove all the roofing, tiles, soil, etc. wash well the concrete slab top and re apply water proofing, bitumen coating with polythene sheet or bitumen membrane. Than re apply the roofing once again.
Don't forget to apply vertical skirting of water proofing at inner side of parapet wall.
