Injuries - December 2006

Okay, well, today there is a 2 hour delay, and i didnt find out until i was all ready for it, so i went on a walk with my dog, but when i came inside, i dropped the leash to take my shoes off, and i slipped, and my left hand was he only thing holding me up, besides my heels, that were slightly on the ground, and now my wrist hurts awful, and my parents arnt home, and theres school, what should i do?

I had the 2 stitches in my knee removed today after 10 days. It didnt bleed at first and the doctor was pleased how well it had sealed up. But then I got on my bike (she hadnt said I couldnt!)... and I felt it spring open. I have quite a lot of blood on the inside of my trousers. I disinfected it and put a plaster over it to avoid my trousers rubbing. She did say some bleeding is normal... but how much??
If it is still bleeding later, should I go back?

I just read on here that eating your boogers is good for you because they carry viruses and once you eat them you are vaccinated. Soooooooo wouldn't I be doing you a favor if I stuck mine in your mouth???

I was laying in bed and my husband was rubbing my back and he kept saying he could feel electricty running though my back and i didnt beleave him until we traded places and when you take the blanket off it would stop so we sat up and held the blanket and it would do it wether it was on or off but as soon as you un plugged it it would stop we tried a different plug to see it that was it and it still did it it is weird cause you cant feel it unles you are the one touching the one holding the blanket what would cause this please help

Everytime I walk, and the moment my feet "bends" to make me walk, There's a very sharp single needle like pain on my feet's palm. Not on the toes or the heels, but in the middle. Anyone know what might be causing this, what the actual term is called (if there is) and how I can make it go away? (This isn't the first time I had it...) It's not deathning painful that I need to go to the doctor, it's just bothering me I guess.

I've been a waitress for the past 10 years and lately my wrist has been very sore...even on my days off if doesn't get better..I've been reading up on carpal tunnel and a lot of the sysmtoms are throughout the thumb index finger and middle...but my pain is on the side that is aligned with the pinky...any helpful hints on what to do/take to ease the pain? During and after work? Thanks

my girlfriend has a tumor and was suppose to have a opperation by a lady obgyn on dec.18 -06 but her doc is stopping practice and called today tell us of it. now my girlfriend needs some ideas . she was scheduled to be off work starting like in 10 days and off for a month but now she has to reset up a appointment.i am so proud my girl friend set up all her appointments and was arranging everthing. My doctor said that if two weeks of anti-inflammatories doesn't work, that he will have me get an MRI of my foot and then possibly give me an injection of cortisone where the pain is. Nothing showed up on the Xray. Well, that NOTHING really hurts...

Is the cortisone shot painful? Does it work?

This has only been happening for 4 weeks. The big joint where thumb meets web of hand has been popping loose. It happens with really mundane things like tying my shoe or getting keys out of coat pocket. It doesn't always happen, maybe once or twice a day.

Since this has started, the other joint just below the nail, has become stiff and inflexible. Now that joint seems arthritic because of stiffness, but the one below is loose, oddly enough.

There is no pain. Only when it pops out, and I have to re-align it, there is briefly some pain, but it goes away.

I take Aleve morning and night now. I'm just worried that this won't heal and will lead to bigger problem. I'm trying to find some clues as to what could possibly be wrong. I don't have health insurance, and so I'd like to avoid going to a specialist at this point. I'd like to try to find some answers and remedies myself, if possible. I'm 42 male.

ok i pierced my own bottom lip last night and its swollen and hurts i no how to clean it and i think its infecetd but if iclean it with salt [because i dont have sea salt] 2-3 times a day will the infection[dont no how to spell it] go away or how make the infection go away with takeing the lip ring I pierced my bottom lip and i think its infected....im only 15

My hip and knee have been killing me for a long time. My class is going on a field trip tomorrow to an amusement park. If my hip or knee happens to hurt to much(like i cant walk) what do i do? Walk to first aid? Have a friend go to first aid and bring them to me? Please be as Detailed as possible...

(i already asked this question but no one gave me the right answer...they all said go to the Dr. but i cnt go to a doctor while at an amusement park and dont say tlk to your parents cuz they are out of town)

I punched a wall about 2 weeks ago. I was swollen for a couple of days. swellin has gone down, had X-ray done, told there were no breaks....I still feel some pain on the middle top of my hand and towards the pinky side. Painful to make a grip. does anyone know about bone bruising, tendons, joints, or anything else it could be? Or am I ok and it's just be slow healing
