Try meditating every morning. Here's how I do it -

First, sit up straight, close your eyes, and focus on breathing in and out slowly. Clear all the thoughts out of your mind (even the thoughts about not thinking - LOL). This is really difficult to do, so take your time, and give yourself several minutes, even 15 or 20 if you need. Just make sure your head is totally clear and empty.

Once your head is totally, peacefully clear, start to visualize what you want to accomplish that day. Go through in your mind the motions of the day, from start to finish, step by step.

Once you know how you are going to face the day, think of a phrase that will motivate you. Hone in on a specific aspect of the day ahead that you think will trouble you, and think of a creative fix to that problem. If the accident is causing you fear and trauma, the phrase might be, "I am safe," or "today is going to be a great day," or "the accident is in the past, and I am a survivor," or whatever phrase feels meaningful and positive to you in that moment.

While you are breathing out slowly, say that phrase OUT LOUD. Then breathe in slowly. Then say it again out loud as you breathe out. You should repeat this until you have said that phrase several times out loud.

As you open your eyes and get ready to face the day, ALWAYS remember to smile in that moment. This is a very powerful gesture to your psychological well-being, and it will set the mood for the entire day.

You will probably find better meditation techniques from a real guru who has studied this. I have never read any books on meditation or studied it at all, so these techniques are simply what I came up with on my own. Even these amateur techniques have made an unbelievable difference in my life, particularly during times that have been very stressful or challenging. I cannot begin to tell you how much this helps.

It sounds like you are in shock. You could possibly be experiencing post traumatic stress. Have you been checked out by a doctor? It would be a good idea if you were. You could have sustained an injury to your brain which is caused from your brain bring jolted inside your skull. Without even being aware of it, you could have received a brain injury. Hopefully, time will take care of it, but don't leave it to chance. Make an appointment to see your doc just to get evaluated to rule out any problems. Let the doc decide if you just need time. Don't take chances with your health. Please!
