The Dr. that she originally was seeing should have already referred her another doctor...she needs to call the hospital that she was to have this surgery done at and ask to be referred to another, she will need to sign a records release, but unfortunately it is doubtful that she will still has the same surgery date...she needs to explain what has happened to her employers, so that the time line can be adjusted to the schedule that the new doctor has. Best of luck, and my prayers are will her and you during this stressful time.

Her Dr. should have referred her to another. I think that is wrong to just leave her hanging like this. I would call the Dr and ask about a referral and if you are unable to contact the Dr, I would call the hospital/clinic where he/she practiced and have them help you.

First: call your insurance carrier and see if they can recommend a provider. If you don't have insurance, call the doctor that was going to do it to get a referral for someone she recommends. Also, you may tell her to request copies of all of her medical records (she is entitled to a copy of her file) so that the new MD will be up to speed.

Her Dr. is supposed to refer her to another Dr. that has agreed to accept her patients. Call the office and get that info then have your gf make an appt.

find another Dr. as quick as possible, if the other one hasn't referred her already. And either way, get records to update the new Dr. too
