Definately sounds like a pinched nerve. Take her to a Chiropractor. a pinched nerve can cause numbness/radiation in your arms/hands, legs/feet as well as other symptoms. Chiropractors adjust your spine- move the bone off of the nerve (relieve the pressure that is on the nerve when it is pinched)

There was apparently enough of an injury to the muscles to have a rather severe contraction of a muscle group. To apply pressure to the nerve roots of a branch of the brachial plexus. The one having an effect on the pinky and the one next to it. The other 3 and the thumb are controlled by another branch of that nerve. If this is not reduced by stretching out that tight muscle to get rid of the impingement of the nerve, perhaps should consider seeing a doctor of Chiropractic and have the problem taken care of.

It could be due to a nerve entrapment. When the muscle swells or sometimes spasm it will block the nerve impulse. Is there swelling in her back sometimes it isn't that noticeable. Which side was she hit on and sounding by the numbness of the fingers I'm assuming the upper back near the spine. Try icing it and light stretches. If it doesn't improve you might want to see a doctor.

Sounds like a pinched nerve. You may want to take her to a Dr. so they can make sure nothing else is going on. Like a broken bone that is compressing on the nerve. Don't think that a punch won't break a vertebra cause it can if hit just right. You didn't say how long it's been since she was hit. If its been relatively recent it maybe soft tissue swelling compressing the nerves. Have her checked out, you really don't want to mess around with the spine.

Its a pinched nerve. Its gonna be painful until the muscle around the nerve relaxes. All you can do is either try and massage it out. Or Lay on her back to unkink the pinched nerve. If she lays on her back and stretches it usually tends to make a "popping" sound when the nerve "re-rights" itself.
