I've got to reiterate what others have said, you shouldn't pierce your own lip, and if you do, you need to have sterile equipment to do it.
That being said, I'm going to tell you how to get this all fixed up if you don't want to see a doctor. Firstly, the face is very resistant to infection, so unless there is a pocket of pus in the wound (it will be exquisitely tender and swollen and when you press on it, it will feel like a fluid bubble) it should heal on it's own once you TAKE OUT THE JEWELRY. This is important. Leaving the jewelry in place will A) not let the tract drain and B) servce as a locus for infection that your immune system will not be able to attack.
You can use neosporin or bacitracin ointment on the outside wound and you should go to a pharmacy and see if you can get Peridex, an oral antibiotic swish for the inside wound.
I wound avoid the saltwater rinses, at best they'll do nothing and at worst they'll dehydrate tissues that really need good blood supply to heal.
If you feel a fluctuant collection like an abscess, you need to be seen by a doctor and this will likely need drained and you'll need oral antibiotics (pill form). If you're having any fever or chills, go to the nearest emergency room.

Salt water helps to keep it clean and prevent infection. You did just pierce it, so the redness & sweeling could just be your body's initial reaction. What size(gauge) is the jewlery you put in it? People who pierce themesleves &/or friends sometimes use the wrong size needle & jewlery, and end up with infections because their body is trying to heal what it thinks is a splinter, or something like that. You should call a local piercer & see if they'd look at for you. They probably sell a good product to help in case it really is infected.

Listen the last thing you want is a doctor having to remove that lip because the infection is serious. Hydrogen peroxide is good for infections, but it may scar your wound. Listerine is good for keeping the bacteria in your mouth down, but I don't know what effect it can have on the wound. Lips are more delicate than earlobes you know. That's your mouth. Bite the bullet and see a doctor, you may need antibiotics to get through this.

I actually have a retired midsection labret and it did no longer harm one bit. fairly, the preliminary piercing is the hassle-free area. clamp, stab, rings, executed. it relatively is the aftercare which you will tension approximately it relatively is commonly painful. in the previous you get it executed be certain you may guard it and are waiting for the therapeutic technique. sea salt soaks are a could. mixture a teaspoon of non iodized sea salt with a cup of warm, sterile distilled water and placed it in a dixie up or some thing. tip the dixie cup over the piercing, and carry it there for 15-20 minutes. then rinse with sterile distilled water one element i chanced on that labored properly for therapeutic my tongue is biotene mouthwash. that's supplied in a white bottle, and is alcohol unfastened so no burning. you may get it at any drugstore or food market. yet yeah, the preliminary piercing isn't undesirable in any respect. everyones discomfort tolerance is diverse, yet certainly this became into probably between the least painful ones i've got ever gotten. i wish i helped :]

You sound like you are VERY confused. Take the ring out and clean the wound with alcohol. Don't do that again. You're not the ring-in-the-lip type.

Probably is infected since you did it yourself. I would take it out, let it heal. Before it gets really bad :)

Now you did it. If it gets too bad you might have to have surgery and cut part of your lip off. WTG Moron.
