Yes get the shot! You did a sterile stitching without the doctor in a dirty environment. You should have gone to the doctor. You should be thinking about possible infection. The knife might have rust on it you cannot see. Have you had your last shot in the last ten years. If not it's time.

Why the heck didn't you go to the hospital in the first place. You could get gangrene for heavens sake. Sometimes I wonder about some people where the heck their brains are.
Of cause you will need a tetanus shot. Did you sterilize everything before using it?

It's your choice. Unless that knife came out of the dirt or had rust on the blade, I wouldn't worry about it. I have stepped on rusty nails & had them go deep into my foot & never got a tetnas shot. iF YOU CLEANED YOUR WOUND, YOU SHOULD BE O.K.!!! Use Betadine, Peroxide, or Alcohol as a disenfectant. Keep it clean & you should heal up just fine. Believe it or not, you did yourself a favor by avoiding the hospitals & nosey doctors & nurses!

Ouch, if you got stabbed, you should have gone to the hospital, not tried to sew it up yourself and just leave it. I suggest going to the doctor and getting it taken care of before any serious infections set in. As well as stitching it up properly, your doctor will be able to tell you if you need a shot or not.

If you haven't had a tetanus shot in the last ten years, yes. I would also suggest strongly that antibiotics are in order, if the wound was deep enough to require sutures.

you should go to a doctor in general. I actually know someone who this happened to too BUT interestingly enough, he had a tetanus shot already. So yeah you probably should.
