The most simple answer is no. However, if it has a hair line fracture and then the answer is still no if it looks fine. In addition you should treat your sprain just like an ankle sprain and "RICE" it. RICE stands for Rest (well its a arm so no boxing), Ice (to keep the swelling down), Compression (also for swelling and attention from *girls/boys*), and Elevate (not going to do much good with an arm but it allows the flow of blood get recirculated and prevents pooling, it also does wonders for pounding/pulsating sprains and broken bones or even smashed hands by blunt objects)

No for a sprain you only may need a ace bandage or a sling to support the area. A cast would be for a fracture and for long term healing of the bones.

Depends on the assessment of the orthopedist. Some sprains give severe swelling that it is better to immobilize the extremity more rigidly in a cast for a few days. Simple bandages cannot do that.

No. Probably an Ace Bandage or a sling. Casts are for things broken that need to be set immobile so they can mend.

No, you don't need a cast for a sprain. Usually you treat it with "HI-RICE": hydration, ibuprofen, rest, ice, compression and elevation.
These links should help.
