This last july I happen to get hit by a huge heavy tire swing and it left a giant bruise on the front part of my arm, right around the elbow area. But the bruise is long gone, its almost october, and everytime there is pressure in that spot on my arm, it hurts. Does it take this long to heal? It's the muscles that feels like its in pain.

There is a hard lump in the very center of the bruise. Is this normal, or should I have someone check it out?

I sprained my ankle about 5 months ago and tore all the ligiments. It was pretty severe. I use to be extremely active, but i am still not able to run or even put my foot flat on the ground with out pain. I have been going to physical therapy on a weekly basis for 2 months and it doesn't seem to be getting better. Has anyone seriously sprained an ankle and not been healed to the point where they can not run, walk long distances or even put their foot falt on the ground 5 months later? if so, any suggestions? Please only answer if you have a helpful response. thanks

I recently was hospitalized to have surgery on my abdominal area. They had to replace a shunt ,and take out the old one. They had to cut my stomach , so how long will it take before I am completely healed? I had been sick for two weeks before I figured out there was a problem.

The upper portion of the thumb was chipped off and his whole nail was removed.

Actually, I'm doing this for a friend. I've read an article in a biology newsletter which tells of a certain incident when a child lost all of his fingers due to an accident. All that was left were bleeding stump-like remains where his fingers once were. The clinic dismissed him carelessly, paying no attention, whatsoever to the juvenile's serious injury. After 2 months, the young boy returned and presented his hand to the nurses who had absent-mindedly treated him before. To their surprise, the fingers were growing back, nails and all! The boy was 11 years old. There was no irregularity found in his DNA structure which could possibly be the surprising cause of his fingers' regeneration.

I was wondering if the same thing would apply to this injured friend of mine. He was already treated, at least seriously in this situation, and he has adapted to his situation rapidly. He wonders about his thumb.

I am now pregnant, and I used silvadene to treat it, but then it seems that silvadene is not safe to use on pregnant woman. My blister seemed to gather more and more liquid as time goes by. If I don't pop the blister, would it leave a scar or puss under the skin and make the situation worse?

I am fifteen and I tore it almost three months ago. I already went through physical therapy, but I'm getting mixed results from my therapist and my doctor. My doctor says it's fine for me to run as long as I wear my brace. My therapist says that I'll have to ask my doctor and she's not really keen on letting me play any sports yet.

My muscles can grow stronger. So my question is, can I start sprinting when I am strong enough? Especially during conditioning for tennis? I can't wait until I get back into the game!

Overall my nose is straight, its no major problem but it's just that the nasal bone on the left side is sorta pushed in and it just makes my face look a little uneven (a compressed nose is what i think they called it), the backbone of my nose(septum?) is perfectly straight though and so is the other side. What do you guys think the success rate would be for them to actually fix it and make it look just like before or the other side ?? in other words, do you think that it's a simple enough procedure for no mistakes? they said that they need to re-brake it first...and my surgeon graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1983, and he majored in Otolaryngology if that helps. oh and how long do you think the healing process will take if they re-brake it ??

On Feb 1 I sprained my ankle badly. Didn't go to a doc about it (I could walk, so my dance prof said it was ok) until a month later when it seemed to get even worse (more painful, swelling wasn't going away). Diagnosis? Grade 2-3 sprain of the lateral ankle ligaments and the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th metatarsals.

I was put in an aircast pneumatic boot (aka knee-high moon boot) for 6 weeks, from March to the very end of April. X-rays: no fractures. The swelling went down and so did the pain. Went to a chiro and physio for the ankle after, it felt nearly normal.

I am a dancer and am very fit, but now after every class, even after walking long distances, my ankle really ...not hurts, but aches. The pain is enough to wake me sometimes, or force me to sit. Its a deep, dull, ache all around the ankle joint. It is also very easy to sprain and swells readily now... Any ideas on why this is still a problem so many months later?

A few weeks ago i hit something with my fist and my pinky finger was sore for a few days but my thumb still hurts it hurts to do almost anything that requires me to grip with it or whatever. I didn't realize how much your thumbs do until it's messed up. Maybe it's just jammed or whatever? Help?

i thought she probably just slept on it wrong and she went off to school. When she got home she said that she felt sick to her stomach and so i asked her if it was a pukey feeling or a pain and she said pain. So now she has pain in that started in her back and is now in her belly? Could there be a relation?
