Injuries - September 2006

Tried to clean the stove, and by the time I picked up the grill it was so hot that I my hand was numb and then the pain tore through my fingers. I've got white blisters all over. It feels good when I dip the fingers in a glass of cold water. Is there an easier way to quickly heal or atleast soothe this aching pain? Thank You

and surgically repaired to regenerate and provide function/feeling back into the hand. would the regenerating nerve maintain its intergrity to pick up where the original nerve signals left off?

what can speed nerve regeneration after surgically reattaching a nerve to move faster than the average 1mm/day? is there any possiblility it can travel at 2mm/day?

a pulled back muscle and a pinched nerve.

Somehow yesterday I did something bad to my back. It hurts to move. I get a very sharp pain on the lower left of my back. I cannot lay without pain or sit or stand.
Any ideas???

Please don't tell me to go to the doc. I need a new heath card, and can't get one right now :)

I was playing soccer a few days ago..and I think I pulled my muscle on my left thigh. It hurts really bad, especially when I stretch or rub it. I have a soccer game in two days and I really want to be able to play. How can I get it to stop hurting?

Well I bent down for something like 2 days ago and my neck hurts really bad!! I cant turn it very well and it feels like twisted. Its realllly painful and I dont know what to do about it!!! What do you think?? Any suggestions?

We were at the bus stop on 16th Street in DC and I saw something leaning in the corner. I went over, and it turned out to be a prosthetic leg. It looked used. It has a shoe on the foot. There was a dog tag around the ankle that looks like it says CPL J MILLER IRQ or something. Do you know where I can sell it. I listed it on E-Bay, but the auction got cancelled.

My son is almost 4. He broke his elbow on July 30th. There was no healing after 3 weeks. They went in a put in to pins. Just got them out yesterday after having them in for a month. There is still not much healing going on. Has anyone else heard of this or gone through this before?

I feel off the roof painting trim and cracked three ribs.And craked my foot. After cleaning my yard it is hard to breath and getting sharp pains on my side could I have hurt them again.i did it over a month ago and waited till i felt better to do more.

i had surgery about a month and a half ago. i had a constant IV on for about 3 days, in my left hand. the pain that i had from the time they took the IV out the last time, til now, has lessened but not gone away. there isn't really a noticible color difference in my skin from my other hand, but it is a little swollen. more than anything, when i touch it, it feels like there is a small (about 2.5 cm) rod in there. i know it couldnt possibly be something foreign, so i'm assuming it's just a small section of the vein that's swollen, but it just feels strange because the ends of the "rod" are so defined to the touch. i've been meaning to go to the doctor and ask, but i honestly just don't have the time. anyone have any ideas?

I am really not sure if they are broken or bruised. They don't hurt when I take in air and not to much when I cough but they do hurt when i touch them or put pressure on them.

It's been 12 weeks and the PT every other day is more like S&M torture, it takes days to recover, like starting from day one. Can't even plug a cord into electrical socket, or open a door with a key. Has anyone had their MD tell them the truth, like there could be outrageous pain? How long??? I don't know anyone who has had this type of surgery, so I don't know if it's just me, or if I had a hacker for a surgeon. I have an ulcer from the NSAIDs, silly pills never worked for the pain anyway. Help, I have to get my right arm back.

I skateboard periodically and i have a hard time avoiding ankle injuries. As a result i have had 3 sprained ankles on both legs. It never seems to get better and i dont know how to improve the muscle. Yes i do walk on it and try to excerise the area that is sprained but nothing seams to work. Is it also possible to find a prostetic that can be surgeically implanted?

i recently had this carried out on my leg due to damage to my knee in a football accident, i snapped my pcl ligament and stretched the lateral ligament, i was originally going to get a pcl reconstruction and the lateral sorted but the night before my op my consultant decided this was the best way to go, i had the procedure done and was meant to possibly still have the reconstruction done, now my consultant thinks i dont need the reconstruction and isnt going to carry it out, im totally puzzled by it, im going private to get a second opinon on the matter, can anyone shed any light on this procedure for a pcl ligament damage?

also im waiting on physio from nhs and my osteotomy has totally healed any one know exercises to build back the leg muscles in my thigh and calf and around the knee,

any help would be magic, thanks

I am seeking advice on a torn ACL injury that I sustained while playing football. I'm a 27 year old very active male and I definitely want to be able to remain that way after surgery. I have read about the different types of reconstruction techniques and I wanted to get feedback on the pluses and minuses of either receiving a hamstring graft or a donor graft. Please only answer if you have any experience with a torn ACL. I greatly appreciate it!
