I was playing soccer a few days ago..and I think I pulled my muscle on my left thigh. It hurts really bad, especially when I stretch or rub it. I have a soccer game in two days and I really want to be able to play. How can I get it to stop hurting?

To treat a pulled muscle, immediately place an ice pack on the injured area to reduce swelling. It usually takes one to three weeks for the muscle to heal and rest is important. Wrapping the muscle with an elastic bandage will also help and your doctor may decide to prescribe medication to reduce the pain and swelling.

Usual rule of thumb: Heat it up before your game - even more important now since soft tissue injuries takes ALOT longer to heal than a bone.

After the game: cool it down.

Ensure you stretch well at all times but keep in mind that no matter how well you stretch you can always have an injury. So it may not have been something that you can avoid. Good Luck!!

For a pulled thigh muscle I would maybe lay down a bit, try not to put so much pressure on it. Put some ice cubes in a zip-lock baggie and lay it on the area of the pulled muscle....I don't think you'd need an ace bandage if it isn't bleeding, just relax for the amount of time you have.

Apply ice for the first 24 hours then after that then alternate ice and heat. You can apply a menthl rub like deep heat as well. That will all help. Good Luck

Watch House MD and take it from THE DOCTOR squeee(sarcasm)

don't use a cane and put ice on it, be easy. I think you can play but don't play as hard. Take it to a beginner's level for now and shorter time. Take ibuprofen and stuff, baby it.

Elevate the leg on a sofa during the night and put a magnet from your fridge on it. Fill up a soda bottle with hot water and wrap on it.
Take Motrin ...kicks butt.
U should be fine .
Rub olive oil or chapstick on it may help too.
