No, not if you are trying to queue jump. The Hospital would refuse to see you if you had not had the scan done in your own locality, unless the need was urgent, and by urgent I mean EMERGENCY. It would not be fair and don't believe the Government hype about patient choice it is utter bollox. Your local hospital is funded by a local PCT (Primary Care Trust), who hold the purse strings for your area. The PCT would have to pay for a scan you had elsewhere and if you had not consulted them first or it was not an emergency the PCT could charge you for trying to skank the system.

Hi well first off all your GP needs to send you for a MRI scan you cant just go there on your own accord. You will need a appt but be aware in most hospitals there is a long wait for a MRI scan where ever you look and what hospital you go too,you may have to think about going private .Good Luck

You'd have to check with your doctors, with the way the NHS systemn is at the moment and cost-cutting the only available option may be your local hospital. Wrong I know.
Hope it all gets sorted

I know it sounds drastic but book a day trip to Holland,Belgium,France,German,MAKE SURE YOU HAVE INSURANCE,as soon as you get off the plane or ship COLLAPSE ,you will be taken to the nearest clinic and when they know you are insured will do all the tests you need also make sure you take a A111 card or form with you,GOOD LUCK.

you can ask your doctor about going on the list anywhere there was a new legislation brought in last year allowing patients more say on where there treated but i don't think even your GP would be able to guarantee list times

In theory yes. In practice I think you're limited to where your GP sends you. You really need to discuss with your GP.
