The shot lasts for 7 to 10 years, but you really need to clean the wound and watch for infection. If it starts to turn red or look infected you may need to take him to the doctor for antibiotics. If "wounds by iron" are a problem, you need to clean your yard. This type of thing is serious, and doctors pay attention to repeated visits like that. Clean the yard before you have the local health department knocking on your door.

You really should talk to a doctor/nurse, but a single innoculation is good for about 10 years, with booster shots every 10 thereafter. Remember, the shot has to be given *before* the injury, and it has nothing to do with the material (iron) involved, ANY deep wound can result in tetanus, not just the archetypical 'rusty nail'. If this is after the fact, normal antibiotic treatment is indicated.

Vaccinations are bad for you!

A vaccinated person is MORE likely to get a disease than a non-vaccinated person. The whole theory of vaccination is flawed. It causes a weakening of the immune system thus making those who are innoculated more susceptible to disease.
There are so many awful side effects to vaccination that it should be considered extremely dangerous.
Just sit back and think for a while.
Is there any sense in injecting a disease directly into the bloodstream.
We have been subjected to an awful mind control program to enable the drug manufacturers to make a fortune.

Any wound by Iron does not need a tetanus shot. Tetanus is only associated with iron or any metal because there's a possibility some infected animal scratched itself on that metal object and then you scratched yourself on it. But there's no harm in getting the shot since it does last 10 years in a normal healthy body.

Tetanus injection is give after you become 10 years old.
Before that you get the tetanus part with other vaccines like DPTa, so if your son is up to date with all his childhood vaccinations, you should not worry about that, take care, zapoyol
