I am really not sure if they are broken or bruised. They don't hurt when I take in air and not to much when I cough but they do hurt when i touch them or put pressure on them.

yeah, theyre bruised. They would hurt when your breathed and coughed if they were cracked.
If the bones themselves are bruised it can take a few weeks for them the heal completely, although the pain and sorness stick around for much longer. Just take it easy, stay limber so you dont get sore, take pain killer (motrin is best for bruised broken swollen things), and wait it out.
Even if they were cracked the most they would do is wrap them and tell you to take it easy.

If your ribs were "broke" broken, I can assure you, you would not be tapping away at a keyboard. Bruised ribs are not bruised per say it is the muscle sheathing around the Rib Cage that was injured "bruised". Due to the continual expansion of your Ribs Cage that bruise is always painful due to the motion.
How long? All relative to the insult that was suffered ...4 to 6 days for a minor insult.

ribs heal slow and there is not much you can do for them. But plan on them being tender for atleast 2 weeks.

six weeks if you`re easy on them, if they`re broken they take much longer.
