I am now pregnant, and I used silvadene to treat it, but then it seems that silvadene is not safe to use on pregnant woman. My blister seemed to gather more and more liquid as time goes by. If I don't pop the blister, would it leave a scar or puss under the skin and make the situation worse?

If you pop it, it will probably leave a scar. I would just let it go, even if it is painful :(

Silvadene is an amazingly good cream to have available for your burn. When I was in the Fire Service it came to my rescue many a time and I have no scars as a result of it`s use in a timely manner.
Yet your pregnancy does cause me alarm, I`m NOT sure if silvadene is a steroidal cream or not .I`m thinking it is which would make it a No Go for your use of it. Contact your pediatrician right now and ask this question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As far as the blister, it is painful I know but the blister cotains your bodies own defence and healing solutions in that liquid you are seeing, plasma is one of those elements which is greatly needed as it heals and keeps the site moist and encased from outside bacteria. A burn site is the most subseptible area that can pick up an infection very very rapidly. If you must cover it only use sterile gause, loosely applied, nothing tight. But open air is the best for the healing process. I hope you will be able to use the silvadene, at home you can apply alo vera, straight from the plant, it is all natural and has no detrimental effects. It is natures source for skin ailments especially burns.
Gods Speed my dear.

Do not pop the blister under any circumstances. You need to protect it as long as you can. The biggest chance for infection comes after the blister is popped. If you cannot use the silvadene, try putting a sterile 4 x 4 dampened with sterile water or normal saline over the blister and then wrap fairly loosely with gauze wrap. All available at your drugstore. If it pops and the fluid drains out, then keep it covered, using the method listed above. If you see any nasty looking drainage, have intense pain, or redness to surrounding tissue, call your doctor to treat for infection.

Do not bust the blisters. If you bust them they could get infected and it will leave a scar. Silvadene is not safe to use on pregnant woman, so go to your doctor and have him give you a cream that is good for you. Most people cool the burns, but that is not always good for them. To take away the pain hold the burn under water that is room temperatur. Make sure you don't get the blisters durty. You can cover them with a clean towel or a compression you can buy at your local Wal-mart.

Do not pop the blister! Once opened you no longer have a the protective barrier of the skin. If it continues filling with liquid you should be seen by your physician. Until that happens, keep the blister covered with a dry, sterile gauze pad dressing in case it opens and releases the fluid.

My ma used to take a needle and thread and stitch it through the blister and then cut off the ends but leaving a bit of cotton sticking out each side. Thus the blister can drain itself.

Don't pop it! Yes it would scar and puss, the liquid is puss. If you have run your hand under cold water the blisters should reduce in size, the water must be as cold as you can stand. Don't wrap it up, you need to let it breathe. If you are worried I would suggest talking to a doctor about it, they might have a cream or another type of medicational substance that would help you. Or at least that's what my friends father in the red cross volunteer service taught us. ^_^

ok ok heres wat u do!!

First of all DONT pop it...it will releif the pressure yes, but it will also make the raw skin under the blister exposed to the environmen (and it can be quite painful)

What you need to do is drain the blister WITHOUT poping it...

Take a small threading needle, and a piece of cotton...(about 5cm worth should be fine)
Then thread the coton into the eys of the needle, and then push the needle once through the head of our blister.....once the needle as completely passed through the blister, seperate the needle from the cotton (cut it)...this should leave a piece of cotton through your blister, and the blister will slowly drain itself via the cotton... (this drains the blister slowy and also allows for healing time!)

I hope ive explained it clear enough for you!

Good luck!

Don't pop it. The skin is trying to heal so it will rupture when it's ready. If you do it on your own, it might be too early and it will hurt more and you could get it infected.
