A few weeks ago i hit something with my fist and my pinky finger was sore for a few days but my thumb still hurts it hurts to do almost anything that requires me to grip with it or whatever. I didn't realize how much your thumbs do until it's messed up. Maybe it's just jammed or whatever? Help?

okay..dont go to the ER..thats for all that dramatic crap for when ur about to die. a thumb wont kill you. go somewhere to get x-rays done and then see what they can do if its jammed, broken, sprained, fractured, etc..

If you hit it, there is a possibility that you fractured it or broke it, but either way, there isn't anything a doctor can really do except maybe give you drugs. You can pick up a finger splint at any pharmacy. I would try icing it some and see if that doesn't help though, but I wouldn't really waste my money on a doctor for something they can't do anything about.

Go to the emergency room and they will check it out for you. I had a similar injury and it ended up being a fracture with a torn ligament. If I were you, I would be on the safe side and go to the ER.

Umm... Maybe its sprained. It will heal in time. try to use it a little bit but dont overdue or underdue it will make it worse. If it starts to hurt for a long time go to the doctors. Good luck!~

It may be broken, sprained, or strain ligament or muscles tear. You may want to consider having a doctor check it out soon. If you wait too long it may heal wrong or have to be rebroken or require surgery to fix.

That appears like a sturdy theory somewhat if it really is discolored. i understand it sounds ridiculous yet my pal's palms began going numb and it grew to change into out that something changed into incorrect with her backbone--she had to have surgical procedure and each little thing. This wasn't led to through falling down the stair yet my aspect is that you may have led to a lot less glaring injuries.
