My student dentist zapped me three times with the x-ray machine before remembering to give me that protective pad. What are the chances I'm going to get cancer or become sterile after this malpractice? Are today's high tech x-ray machines less likely to cause health problems?

i have had almost every tooth filled 2 years ago, and about three fillings since. Now my top back tooth has cracked/chipped abit, got abit of a whole at the side and has started to niggle pain. every injection is painful, and i refuse to go back and have that scary thing through my gums again- i am **** sick of it even though ive looked after my teeth pretty well. is there anything else the dentist can use instead of that *** needle or im thinking of whipping the tooth out myself some how. Many thanks.

But....I have small bumps ALL over my tongue. They have spread to the back of my throat. They are making my teeth hurt and my gums sensetive. Let me stress, I have HUNDREDS upon hundreds of redish/white tiny bums EVERYWHERE in my mouth! It hurts so bad, to the point i can't eat.

I am not trying to self diagnos myself, just curious about what it could be...can't get in to see my doc till monday.

Thanks.

P.s. i already said i was going to go see my doc, so please don't tell me i need to see a doc about it, that is a dumb answer.

Thanks.

I brush and floss about 2-3 times a day to help with my minor gingivitis. I decided to invest in a nice electric toothbrush (nicer than my Oral B Vitality but cheaper than the one at the dentist office) and now, I got a new Waterpik water rinse thingy.

Can I both floss and use the Waterpik as part of my teeth cleaning and gum maintenance routine (I know it's time consuming)?

I just had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed on Tuesday. It's now saturday and I noticed on Thursday that my bottom right socket is red, not to red but its red and its the only area that hurts. Is this normal? or do I have an infection? my dentist told me to go in on Monday if it still hurts.

I am considering having some tooth implants, but I react to certain metals in regards to wearing jewlery. I am wondering if this might cause a negative reaction to the implants.

I have ,actually, very good oral health, but I still have a bad problem with my breath.
I'm so embarrassed to talk to anyone because i'm so scared they'll be offended.
Even my boyfriend's admitted to it.

i had braces for almost 4-5 years, so i'm not sure if that affects anything...
but anyway

i've tried gums, different mouthwashes, flossing, tounge scraping...i brush like...all the time I try not to eat bad foods, i've never had a cavity or anything

is there anything i can do to get rid of this?
i don't want to mask it 24/7, frankly i'm tired of that??
thanks for any help

I'm 14 years old, and go to the dentist every 6 months. I counted, and I already had 6. a lot of which were on the bottom. It's embarrassing to open my mouth for my friends to see all of those silver fillings.

I had a cavitivy on the side of my top molar #3, i've had it for the last year or so. I had just planned to get a root canal done on it Nov 24, but two days ago part of it broke while i was eating candy. Now 1/4 of my tooth on the inside is missing and you can just see a black hole. I asked Dr. Wei (root canal specialist) and he said mabye it can be saved with a root canal and with some build up work, post/core, or crown lengthing. I want Dr. Wei to do my root canal he's really good at saving teeth but he's going out of town and cannot get me in. I have heart failure and I'm not sure if I'm in danger of just sitting around with this whole in my tooth with the decay exposed. I was told that the decay has been there for a long time, and just because my tooth broke I'm not in any more danger. I have been put on antibotics to protect my heart until i can be seen. Should I wait for MY root canal doctor to come back in a week, or should I go to his collegue and get this problem taken care of

I brush my teeth everyday twice a day and I brush my tongue too. I floss regularly. I use mouthwash. I use mints and gum. My bad breath doesn't go away!!! Even when I put like 3 mints in my mouth at once, the bad breath only goes away for like 5 minutes? What do I do?

I've had this baby tooth for a very long time (I'm 22), it's actually just gotten pretty loose in the past couple of months. So basically I have my adult tooth which grew in at an angle pushing against the baby tooth. Even the side of the baby tooth has worn away to fit against the adult one.

My question was, is it possible for the dentist to numb the gum, pull the baby tooth out and somehow pull the adult tooth into place where the baby tooth was? I thought it shouldn't be too difficult considering that the adult and baby tooth are pretty close together since they're touching. Is there a way to do it, any idea how much it could cost? I don't have insurance so I'll have to make payments. Those are the only two teeth that are messed up.

i had a tooth pulled yesterday, my dentist warned me that it is near a nerve and if damaged could possible result in numbness in my lip/gums/tongue & chin.

it looked like a simple extraction & she said it shouldn't happen but if she was concerned she would refer me to a surgeon......the extraction took about 40 minutes because it wasnt as simple as it seemed.

i now have numbness in the left side of my chin under my lip, it doesnt affect any other part of my mouth (thank god) like i read in peoples stories, just a small patch of my chin that feels strange when i touch it.

has anyone had similar problems? if so how long (if ever) did it take to go away?...i know this is like the "how long is a piece of string" question as it can take days/weeks/months/forever, just wondering as mine seems like a mild case

thanks

p.s. sorry for any typos :)
