I usually take 800mg of ibuprofen (Advil) every 8 hours and two Tylenol PM at night. I also will rinse with hydrogen peroxide and camphophenique (a topical anesthetic and pain reliever). I'll usually use a bunch of Orajel as well. If the pain is too severe, I would recommend visiting your local ER where they can give you prescription painkillers along with antibiotics which will relieve the pain until you can see a dentist.

For dental problems, usually ibuprofen is the best thing you can take. As long as there are no allergies or any other drugs that will counter-act, you can safely take up to 4-200mg tablets (800mg total) every 6 hours.

Also, go to a dentist.

I usually take an IBprefen, and if I am asumiong correctly this is about your teeth, so I guess you could try swishing salt water around in your mouth. Thats what my dentist tols me to do when I had a tooth ache. Might not work for you though.

Nother thing is to try cold water and try not closing your teeth together, then try to get to see your dentist. If you want you can stuuf cotin in your mouth and tie a bandage around your head, although I don't see the point. That's only in t.v.

Try really warm salty water...rinse your mouth out with that paying special attention to the sore area. i mean super salty water...like 1/2 cup warm water to 1/4 cup salt..it somehow kills the nerve for a few. Try a heating pad. Have heard of crushing aspirin and pasting it on the area too...never tried that though...GOOD LUCK!!!
