I went to the dentist because the tissue around one of my wisdom teeth in the top of my mouth became inflamed. Over the years, once every couple of years, it would become a bit sore but always went away. I went to the dentist this time because it did not, and it turned out there was an infection which cleared right up with antibiotics and the inflamation went away. The dentist told me I should probably have it removed or it may flair up again. I have heard nightmears about wisdom tooth extraction and really don't want to go through this unless it is absolutely necessary. My wisdom teeth have never really been a problem before, and my thinking is that if it's not broke, don't fix it until it's necessary to do so. I just had all kinds of dental work done, planing & scaling, crowns, root canal, 5 cavities filled, etc. (I had not been to the dentist in 15 yrs) I really don't feel like I'm up to any more dental misery. Anyone else still have wisdom teeth that act up? Thanks!

I had a molar break off about 5 months ago. I have had non stop pain for almost a week now. I ended up in the er, and they put me on antibiodics. Told me to take advil for pain. That doesn't work. 1500-2000mg of tylonal and 800mg of advil don't kill pain. I have about 2 more weeks before I can even get a dentist to look at my mouth. What is there over the counter, that will kill the pain of the exposed nerve. I have no insurance and no real source of income. Can anyone help or offer any suggestions?

I had braces a couple of years back and stopped wearing my retainer. My teeth have shifted a bit and I'm wondering if I start wearing the retainer again ... will my teeth shift back into place?

I think you're supposed to change your toothbrushes and mascara every 3 months or so. So, go get an oil change, get a new toothbrush and makeup, and count down til the next 3 months! (or 3,000 miles)

i have a question..i haven't been to the dentist in over 5 years & i think i possibly have a cavity..but my problem is..i want to get braces because theres a space in between my front teeth n im sick of having " buck teeth" but when i go to the dentist im afraid im going to have to get fillings/caps & they stay on forever will i be able to get braces? & i believe that getting silver caps makes your smile look worse then before..is that true? do you have to keep caps on forever?
