go to any drugstore and buy that gel stuff you put on your tooth and gums to numb it. it works for a while. also take Advil. its the best drug out there. its the only one that doesnt have sideffects. other drugs cause internal damage down the road, but Advil is the best. you can also relax. dont do any active stuff. take naps and lay on the side where your tooth hurts. you dont want to push your tooth if it hurts becus this only makes it hurt more. youd agrivate it. you can also watch what you eat. dont eat any sweets. dont eat anything hard or chewy. if it really hurts then call you dentist and tell him your coming in the next day weather he likes it or not.

IF you are in such severe pain you can't sleep, then it is probably infected. You should get some antibiotics, pain killers usually don't help alot in these cases.

Antibiotics should kick in by 24 hours and the pain will go. You may need to see a doctor for antibiotics, or to your dentist.

Try packing it with a damp tea bag. I worked at a dentist's office and he would suggest this and it would sometimes help the patient.
