Getting a root canal is a painless procedure. Absolutely painless under local anesthesia. Letting the wisdom tooth grow out can be painless if you have enough space for it to come out.

I'd rather have a root canal. My wisodom teeth were not growing in straight and putting a lot of pressure on my jaw and other teeth so they had to be cut out. All four at the same time....that was painful.

A root canal in and of itself is not that painful - just a long, traumatizing procedure. Wisdom teeth may or may not cause problems. Kind of a crap shoot there!

when my wisdom teeth "grew in", it didn't hurt. My root canal wasn't painful at all. What was painful was when I had my wisdom teeth extracted.

well if you wait too long you can wind up like my brother where the teeth fused to his jaw and they had to break part of his jaw to remove them but i would get them removed asap
