Your description of this 'white bump' is very vague. It could be many things.

you probably need to describe what shape it is, how big it is, how long its been there, whether its changing much, when you first noticed it. If you knew it was coming. what it did before it became an ulcer (eg little small pimples clustered together). whether you've had it before and how often.

It could be anything from just a bite mark sore, a canker sore(apthous ulcer), cold sore(herpes viral infection) to a papilloma(wart) or tumour.

These all need different treatments, so don't be suprised that everyone is giving you different answers.

first off I'll tell you if it hurts when you touch it THEN DON'T TOUCH IT...DUH!!! second it is most likely ( as everyone else said) a cold sore depending where on your lip it is... if it is on the outside then it is a cold sore if it is on the inside then it is called a canker sore. either way ninety percent of the time it will go away in time but if it is really bothering you then you can get some stuff over the counter to take care of it..campo phanique if it is on the inside or carmex if it is on the outside...either way good luck...

Sounds to me like a canker. Some people call it an ulcer. Rinsing your mouth with salty water can help, but you'd be better off with medicine. You can get a liquid that you put on it to help it heal. Ask your pharmacist.

If it is inside your mouth it could be a kanker sore. It just means you need to brush a little more. Even if it hurts, try some lemon and salt, it gets rid of it sooner. Take care.

the bump could b an ulcer. first check for yourself that u don't chew tobacco or smoke, it could b due 2 that. or, it could b due to an upset stomach or the deficiency of vit.B.
but if the bump persists and changes contours it might be the starting of oral cancer.
also, if it hurts too much get an ointment.

i would say a cold sore. Get abreva right away. The faster to apply it to the cold sore the faster the cold sore will go away.
