I had braces a couple of years back and stopped wearing my retainer. My teeth have shifted a bit and I'm wondering if I start wearing the retainer again ... will my teeth shift back into place?

If they haven't shifted bad you could try if they still fit. Wear them constantly for a few days and see. I know that when my son first got his retainers that one tooth was off and the tooth moved to the shape that was in the incorrect retainer. When his orthodontist realized this they made him a new one. I might work but goes to show you why you must always wear your retainers for the rest of your life.

If they do not fit then you must go back to your orthodontist and you may be looking at getting braces back on.

No braces are to re-align, the retainer is for after braces to keep them from whats happening to you, your retainer would probably just keep your teeth from shifting more.

it truly is the ingredient with braces, they flow your enamel round till you get the proper smile. Kudos. in spite of the indisputable fact that, considering your enamel are not meant to be there obviously, they have an inclination to pick the flow round somewhat. Your retainer is meant to keep them from drifting. in case you will get your retainer on, placed on it each and every nighttime. Your enamel have moved out of position and in case you do not placed on your retainer, properly you only threw distinctive money down the drain. Your retainer will flow them decrease back and that soreness is plenty better than yet another 2-3 years of braces.

Tsk tsk! All that wasted money! It may, but it's best to see your dentist/orthodontist again.
