I'm a sophomore in college and I really want to get braces. I would prefer to get the invisalign so no one can tell, but at the same time, make my teeth straighter.

Since I'm in college, I really don't have the finances available to pay out right. My pa suggested some time of dental insurance but I'm not finding anything.

Anyone out there know of a good cheap way to get braces? Do you have a nice dental plan you can tell me about? I found one place that offered "low monthly payments" but there is no way I can afford 222$ a month!

in 1979 i fell in the hallway of my school and broke my two front teeth off at the gums, I had temporary "posts" implanted into the bone but these posts have since loosened and fell out, leaving an open hole straight to the bone. I also had my wisdom teeth pulled a few years back and the Oral surgeoon chipped the 4 surrounding teeth next to the wisdoms and now they are broken off at the gums as well. I have learned to deal with the pain without using orajel or anything (which i have used an abundance in the past)
The companies I have worked for in the past didnt cover anything becuase it was pre-existing conditions and i do not have the cash to pay for Dental work but know this cannot be done without I.V Sedation and Gas. TODAY i woke up and my top lip is very swollen and I have pain up to the bottom of my nose and cannot afford to goto the dentist. My teeth have been broken off at the gums for years but I dont have insurance. Im afraid of bone cancer. suggestions?

Is there any significance in where plaque collects on your teeth? Two of my teeth on the top left hand side seem to get a LOT of plaque on them all the time, even when I brush twice a day. Is this something I should be concerned about, or do I just ignore it?

I would like to know the following:ONLY from people who know what they are talking about:
- What kind do you have?
- How old are you?
- How long have you had them?
- Do you have to take them out at night?
- How do you clean them?
- How long did it take you to get used to them?
- Do you have to use that "paste" stuff to keep them in?
- Do you have problems eating, talking, KISSING, etc?
- Tell me something about your experiences with them that you wish somebody had told you before you got them.

I'm terribly stressed about this and want honest opinions, NO jokes from the Peanut Gallery, please.

What is the best toothpaste? I want one that will keep my teeth white, keep my breath fresh, and help remove plaque.

I haven't been to the dentist for a long time because I'm really scared of them but I will need to go soon because my teeth are really bad now. I know I've got a lot of cavities that need fixed and I have quite big cavities in my wisdom teeth. I was talking to my friend about it and she said I'd have to get my wisdom teeth pulled out because they don't do fillings in them.......is that true????

I'm really scared of getting fillings because when I was 15 I had to get two filiings and the dentist thought they were small cavities and did them without anaesthetic but one was actually a lot bigger than he thought and I was in a LOT of pain. But I'm even MORE scared about the thought of getting teeth pulled out, so I need to know is what my friend said is true or not.

It's been three days since I got my wisdom teeth out. My face is swollen pretty bad. I've been following all the inscructions, but it doesn't seem to be going down. How long does it usually take for it to go down?

I have realised that the bottom right corner of my gum feels abnormal. I took a closer look in the mirror and it looked like some kind of bubble forming on the gum. Its really hard to explain but I noticed it just formed this morning after I ate something that was fried.

What is happening?

I'm having one this Wed. They have given me a pill to take before hand to calm my nerves. I will also have nitrus oxide, and novacane. They say it's painless these days, but I'm still scared. Also, how is nitrus oxide given? Are there tubes going into my nose? Is there pain after the procedure? Can someone answer these without being obnoxious? I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks

I had my 4 wisdom teeth extracted a week and a half ago. I noticed today that I have no more stiches and the location where my left lower wisdom tooth used to be at, the skin is not fully covered and it is slightly open.

If that filling falls out (how often will that happen, if at all) will it have to keep on being refilled. Then, could it be drilled so many times that that tooth will become worthless and have to be taken out?
HELP!!!!
