I've got a bit of a problem.........I had this tooth in the bottom right hand side, three from the back that got a big filling in it a few years ago. Anyway, about an hour ago I was eating a toffee and the filling came out, but it took most of my tooth with it.......

Now the tooth is pretty much broken right down to the gum, there's one edge still there, but the rest of the tooth is gone. I've got an appointment in a few weeks at the dentist to get some fillings in other teeth, can I just leave this tooth until then? It doesn't hurt, and I can't really take any more time of work, I've already had time off recently to go to the doctors.

After 2 months wearing temporary bridge, I still can't chew on this lower molar due to pain. He tried to adjust the bite about 5 times to no avail. It almost seems the pain is coming from the spot where a tooth was removed. He says placement of the permanent bridge with temporary cement MAY< MAY end the pain. I hope I can avoid a root canal on that tooth. Will this stop the pain when chewing? Thanks

I just got my braces off and now I have to wear a positioner for an indeterminate amount of time. It doesn't seem like it's doing anything different than a regular retainer. What is it supposed to do?

2 yrs ago a small section of my tooth came away without decay it was filled, filling just fell out 4 weeks ago and had it refilled. I had a sharp pain that disapeared quick when pressure was released it was too high and dentist grinded it down now I dont feel anything when I clench my teeth together however when I chew hard food in between I get the sharp pain in that tooth again that quickly goes away, does it need grinding down a little further or is there something else wrong?

have a dental appointment at 9 am on Wed. I will be taking lorazepam before the procedure and hubby will be driving me to and from. I know I will be zonked when I get home but I am wondering how long I will need to wait before I drive. Is it 24 hours, 12 hours? I tried to call the dental office today to ask this question but they are closed the 3rd and 4th for the holidays. Thanks!

I got three silver fillings done last week for the first time ever, and two of them were small and they're totally fine, I don't even really know they're there, but one of them was quite big and it still hurts quite a lot when I eat anything.

How long will it hurt for? I've never had fillings before so I don't know what to expect, but I thought it would be better by now. Will I need to go back to my dentist?

I might be getting them, but I want them off by my senior year, I have spaces between my teeth, but overall my teeth are pretty straight, at least that's what my dentist told me. Also, do they hurt bad, even with power chains?

I had this exposed nerve on the left, bottom part of my mouth on Friday and Saturday and everything hurt it. Hot, cold, even warm water that i tried to drink so it wouldn't hurt it. It was so annoying and painful. I was going to schedule a dentist appt. but it seems to have just gone away, is this possible or was it just something else??

I had a temporary crown put in last week. The gum tissue around the temp is inflamed and appears infected. Also, the roof of my mouth where I had novocaine injections in also appears infected. Four distinct red circles are appearing that weren't there last week. Is this normal? I had a lot of drilling done and spit up quite a bit of blood at my appointment last week. I'm not sure if my mouth is just reacting normally. I would call my dentist but because of the holiday, no one is available.
What could this be?

I just made for first visit to the dentist in 15 years and the news is bad. I have to 4 extractions and many many fillings. Can anyone recommend some good ways to cope with the pain while i'm in the chair. I'm thinking something along the lines of CIA torture survival training!

her teeth are very prominant and i don't know how to broach the subject. i'm afraid for her feelings as the beaver comments appear to be heard more and more frequently. should i bite the bullet and tell leila that people are constantly making carrot munching actions at her behind her back? i feel that if the dentist filed half a cm off she may look more normal, i don't want to hurt her feelings though!!

I am a little scared about, or a lot scared about getting false teeth, with a full upper denture, how long will I need to be out? I am having an immediate denture, so I won't have to go with out teeth, so, during that time, how long does it take me to talk and eat OK? And, will I really have to avoid steak, corn on the cob, apples, etc? I need some help and advice...I'm just 32, look about 25 and am attractive. Help!

Its kind of a silly way to cometically straighten your teeth. Has anyone ever tried it? Do you think it will work? (Its just my two front teeth..they are a bit crooked, but not terribly... just enough to bother me..lol)
