No. The colors are small rubber bands of different colors that are attatched to the bracket. They not only look pretty, but hold the wire in place. Orthadontists need something that will hold the wire in place, so they will have to use something even if it is not colored. They offer colors simply because it looks nicer. It will not cost anything extra.

No, they all cost the same, you just get to choose the color you want every time you go in for an adjustment.

nope, i got braces, its just one big fee at the end for getting them on.

At our dentist the cost is the same. But I am sure it is different with each dentist.
