She needs to find a dentist willing to do it.

Aside from the ethical problems - she'd mess up her bite bad.

I had to make a set of fangs for a patient of mine in the play Dracula - she was one of his brides (tall pale blond- perfect for the part) - but I had her in braces so she couldn't wear the fake teeth.

After a lot of study, we managed to make her a set - best looking vampire in the play!

Okay - watch most vampire movies and you'll see it is NOT the canines they have elongated - its the laterals (the teeth next to the center teeth - called - you guessed it - centrals).

If the canines are lengthened, she will have trouble talking, and be biting her lip, a lot!!!! Canines are guide teeth, make them too long and they interfere with jaw movements.

Acrylic teeth can be made that look great, are pretty durable, and can get a decent fit, yet are removable. That is the way to go.

I can't believe a mother would ask this question. Don't be afraid to have a backbone and do the right thing where your daughter is concerned. If she makes herself look weird she will have a life long problem with just about everything. She will have problems getting a job just to begin with. If she ever wants to get married the only kind a man that would marry that would be a weirdo. You don't want your daughter to have a hard time with everything she does and be ridiculed as well.

Here's a site that tells how to make vampire teeth to attach over your regular teeth. Maybe she should try these first.

I think when she applies for jobs, employers will be put off by her fangs. Hopefully she will grow out of the idea before making it permanent.

Definitely something she may regret in the future. Still it could look good though and have seen others with it done. If this is a form of self-expression for her then maybe allow it but with falsies. There must be ones that are glued instead of a permanent variety.

She's 20, not much you can do about it. Normally fangs are just caps anyway, they can be removed if needed. If not removeable they can be sanded down. I know a bunch of people that have gotten it done and reversed it. It's not like she is going to have a limb cut off or have a sex change. It's fangs. Calm down and let her do what she wants.
If you show her it doesn't bother you, she will stop rebeling and not do things like that.

I personally think it's a ridiculous idea, and hopefully this is just a phase that she'll grow out of.......I'm assuming she's a "goth"?? She's not going to be like that forever, once she grows up a bit she'll realise she doesn't have to dress like that for attention and she'll start being a bit more like a responsible adult......and then she would really regret doing something this silly.

I'd say to let her do it.
She has a free-will and if her will is to better
herself in her eyes then may those who look
apon her be blind because no decision or remark
shall fade her true image.

Plus, we're not in any position to "read" or even
"judge" people. She is an indivitual just like any of us,
so I wish her well, and I will be one of many to tell her that
she has good taste.

I'm all for it.

Ignore her. I know it's really difficult, but if she's showing off delayed-adolescence style, your negative reaction will just fuel it; while if she's actually mature enough to choose this.. er.. attribute permanently, then she's going to have lots of other social/professional issues come up without your parental fuel adding to the fire. Oh, dear... try to think of it as you would an offensive tattoo, and pray she changes her mind in time.

She'll regret that when she gets older. Tell her there are cheaper ways to doing that. She can order some good fangs at vampfangs.com, plus anything else she may want. I've ordered some, and being in Iraq, I freak out everyone. LOL Best of luck to you..........
